Describe your ideal day.

Waking up to sunlight. This is important - the weather later doesn't matter, but I want to wake to sunlight streaming into my bedroom. I wake early enough to be productive in the morning - make myself a nice breakfast, maybe spiced porridge, and a cup of tea. I'm happiest if I get out of the house/flat early, maybe to meet some friends, maybe to just go for a walk. Meet up with friends at some point, maybe, wander about and explore a little, find someplace cheap to eat and maybe wind up chatting at my place into the early morning.  I'm also quite happy to spend a day curled on a couch marathoning a show or reading a good book (/fic). 

What do you hope to get out of this life?

A sense of fulfillment. I have no plan yet for achieving this. 

What would you never leave home without?

Phone, iPod, keys. Probably a purse to hold it all. Sometimes I'll ditch the phone and just go walking until I get lost, just to be alone for a little while.

What’s your relationship with your family?

My mother and I are super close...things over the summer were a little tense, since I, uh, tried to come out. In high school I told her everything, so I miss that, but we're still pretty close. For the most part. My dad and I are less close - we talk more about world news than gossip, exchange emails about international politics and the environment and stuff. We're neither of us super chatty, unless we're made to be - I wish we talked more, tbh. My little brother is, of course, a great annoyance and a great person. We don't always get on, but when we do it's great, and when we don't we're able to coexist (mostly) peacefully.

What’s one dream that you wish you could have pursued?

I think a part of me will always regret not trying harder with music...not taking vocal lessons, not sticking with choir, not trying out for any music programs. And I think it might have been good if I'd taken a year off after high school to work in Europe. But mostly, I'm pretty happy with where I am.

If you had a one way ticket to anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Oh, dear...I'm sure I'm meant to say I'd use it to get back to Toronto...but I can bus it for cheaper. I'd probably fly to Europe, just because it's so compact and I'd be able to see so much pretty easily...but I've always wanted to o to Asia, as well...or, like, Antarctica.

Wait, you have two tickets! Who would you take with you?

Oh, gosh. Well Elena bought me those crazy concert tickets, so I owe her my soul, my firstborn, and probably this ticket as well. But if I got the long straw on Raisin's trip, I'd probably have to give it to him (and change my destination, too). OR if this was my ride BACK from Europe, I'd drag Shelby back with me. But I'd love to adventure with Klara, too...or, idk, I have a lot of people. This is a mean question.

Describe how you imagine your life to be in your twenties (based on TV stuff or books and things).

Well, that's coming up pretty soon...more school, new fashions, new television shows and new obsessions. Maybe I'll fall in love. Maybe I'll live in Europe, or Asia, or Antarctica (okay not likely). Maybe I'll make people fall in love with me. I guess I'll find a job, hopefully something I can love and can do for a good long while. I'll probably have a cat, I'll probably cook a lot of new things and eat a lot of new things and make a lot of mistakes and learn all sorts. Get lost. Read new books and read some old ones and keep coming back to Toronto to visit, and to tell everyone about all the wonderful things I've been doing. Maybe I'll learn to like coffee.

What book influenced you the most as a child?

I've probably got to say Harry Potter, too. It was a super important one. There are so many books that have stayed with me...but Luna definitely inspired me to stay myself. His Dark Materials was big, too (though not as big for me as for some I know...) - it was the first book that really got into my head, kept me thinking for ages after. It was the first book I can remember sobbing over.

Describe your morning routine/thoughts.

I usually wake up a couple of minutes before my alarm (steal my girl), maybe because I'm an idiot who chose an east-facing bedroom with an uncovered window, but probably just because I'm psychic. I'll browse tumblr a bit, trying to work up the courage to get out of bed. Eventually, I'll shower, do my hair, spend an age getting dressed. Maybe I'll put on some makeup, maybe I'll have breakfast. My thoughts are usually either cursing early classes or praising the sunlight, I think of homework and friends and what to eat for breakfast and lunch. I'll think of how I want to be seen, and how late I'm gonna be for whatever my first lecture is.

What is the last thing you think about before going to bed?

The very last thing? Well...I'm often up reading fic or watching television, so I'll think of those. But if a...certain someone is online, I'll usually stay up too late watching her blog and uh trying to think positive thoughts and I really hope she never sees this but actually her blog is, on most nights, the last thing I check before I sleep.So.

1. What is your favourite song and why?

Hmm right now? Hozier's Take Me To Church has been stuck in my head, along with Party Police by Alvvays, Cigarettes by Noah Gundersen, and Alt-Js Every Other Freckle. All-time favourites...Twenty Years by Augustana has always struck a chord, it's got a '90s feel to it, and there's an atmosphere that I've always loved...Alt-J's Breezeblocks has a thrilling buildup and fascinating lyrics, but I think I'm going to have to go with Harry Styles' 'Knowledge and Understanding' as my all-time favourite. The lyrics are so meaningful, so relatable - there's a sense of hopelessness, a wistfulness... what a good song.

2. Where is your ideal vacation spot?

An old city, someplace with history and culture, busy marketplaces and narrow, empty alleyways and lots of opportunities to get lost (also, a good transit system to get unlost)

3. If you were stranded on an island, what would you want with you? (It’s a cliché, but I’ll take it)

A cellphone? (Is there service?)

4. What is one thing you use regularly but would like to get rid of?

my older, uglier pairs of socks. Any pair. They are developing holes and I need to get new ones.

5. 10 years from now, would you like to you be?

do you mean WHERE would I like to be? or WHO? uhh I want financial stability and a sense of purpose. Also I hope to be interesting.
