I used to save bottles like this for special occasions. But in the last few years I’ve come to realize that another day spent above ground is special occasion enough. This 32-year-old port is spectacular, made even more so enjoying it in my grandmother’s crystal.

A Port Tasting at Taylor’s
No journey to Porto is complete without tasting port wine. On our last day in Porto we went down to the cavas by the riverfront to experience some of our favorites. Our first stop was Taylor’s and the tour did not disappoint! We got to taste some vintages we were familiar with and some which were completely new like the chip dry white port. We were dismayed to learn that white port is not often exported and thus is very hard to find in the US.
Taylor has been making port wine for 4 Centuries and it shows!
