Finally! A good shot of our owl perched behind the barn.
Rosa rugosa makes the most beautifully scented rose water.
Peony and salvia bouquet from my garden.
Fountain garden/long walk.
We planted a new tree. Bloodgood maple but I like the name Bloodgodmore.
Glorious
Doesn’t look it but these ferns are 5 feet tall. The Japanese wax bells are looking lush too.
So the wildflower meadow is all perennials this year. I didn’t till, and there are so many flowers coming!
Garden is looking sharp. We have a bumper crop of dragonflies. So happy to see so many flying around. I always get sad to hear that they are disappearing at alarming rates. Last night I saw 40-50 just around the fountain. Crazy cool to watch them hunt.
Remember that dawn redwood I bought for $100, it’s finally home. When the garden show was over they put it outside into the cold and the shock made it lose all the leaves. Luckily it’s OK and finally growing again. This is going to be a huge hole to dig. The tree is 12’ tall already. It’s going to be a beauty in 2000 years. 😂😂😂
Purple columbine.
The peonies are like two weeks late. They were hit hard by winter and this cold we’ve been having. One of my favorite plants.
This beautiful clematis is doing exactly what I hoped. It’s climbing towards the sun and one side of the folly. Such a stunning color.
Various things in bloom.
Hansa Rosa Rugosa coming in.
This year’s flowering was so brief. Three days of torrential rain and super cold weather wilted the blooms fast.
Sourdough experiment two.
