- neil is trying to restart his life after nathan & his goons were murdered and starting at the cheesecake factory while saving up to get a maths degree
- aaron with a phd in microbiology
- christmas episodes where nicky and erik come to visit
- kevin watches andrew hopelessly fall in love with neil and tries not to scoff at him when he spots andrew looking at neil with that look in his eyes
- renee with an anthropology and religious sciences phd being andrew’s favorite colleague at the university.
- dan being neil’s community college mentor and pushing him to try night classes on the side of his job at the cheesecake factory
- neil working with katelyn, who’s working on the side of getting through med school, and eventually introducing her to aaron when andrew asks neil to please set his brother up with someone so he’ll stop whining
- one month neil’s salary was late so he didn’t have a lot of money for food. he ate either andrew and kevin across the hall every night and promises each time that he’ll pay them back. every time he now tries to give them that money they refuse to take it/pretend like neil isn’t trying to hand them an envelope full of cash.
