I know how you love endings, Mara. But this isn’t ours.
- The Becoming of Noah Shaw
ya lit meme: ten series or books

“Fate is bullshit. Destiny doesn’t exist. If I want a happy ending, I’ll have to write it myself.” - The Becoming of Noah Shaw by Michelle Hodkin.
I absolutely love this book, it’s so enigmatic <3 I got it during term and was going to save it for holidays but I caved and stayed up all night reading... Then walked around in the morning feeling like I’d entered a different plane of existence. I love it even more after rereading - honestly it just means so much to be back with these characters again.
Alexander Ferrario was my Noah inspiration.
- What kind of boy would love a girl who believes it's okay to kill people? - A boy who wants to die.
NEW SHAW CONFESSIONS TEASER. I’M SHAKING!!!!!!!!!
The Becoming of Noah Shaw
Michelle Hodkin
4/5
I’m not going to lie, I made my sister take me to Half Price the day that this came out so that I could buy it because it’s Noah Shaw, and I love my Noah, but I refused to start it right away because that meant that I had longer to wait for the next book because I knew that as soon as I finished it I’d want the next one right away. I read it and did, in fact, want the next book right away.
It was so refreshing to see all these characters again, and see what they’re all doing but I’ve got to say that I love Noah, I love his point of view, and I love his sense of humor and just about everything about him. He’s one of those characters that I forget that I love so much, until I’m reading their book again and I’m assaulted with all my love for them all over again. He’s one of the first characters I fell in love with, since the Mara Dyer series was one of the first series’ that I got truly invested in, next to Throne of Glass, and even after all these years my love for him still stands.
Did I think this book was necessary? Not really, since I felt like the ending of Retribution was a good enough ending for good. I didn’t know what I was going into either, because I like going into books not knowing much, so I always just go in blindly only knowing what someone else has told me about the book. I wasn’t disappointed though! I knew that I was going to love it no matter what but I’m still happy to honestly say that I loved it.
I have theories for what could be going on, and what’s going to happen next and I think that it’s an important part of Hodkin’s books, because they give you something to think about and personally I get so invested in her books that even after months of finishing one of them I still get random thoughts about what could be going on. It lingers with you, and any good book sits with you for long periods of time. The best part of reading is when you think of what happens next. When you’ve finished a book and all you can do is wonder when you can get your hands on the next one because you just need to know what’s going to happen next. I love the mystery and the drama of it all, and I think this book was the perfect blend. It makes my love for the series and the author grow more each time I read from this universe. So, while I think Hodkin’s could have left us with Retribution, I really can’t wait until the next installment of this series.
I NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO ABOUT THIS GODDAMN BOOK
