For the au of Vance and Billy, I like combining my favorite headcanons of them in ways that add a bit more impact in this au, like the headcanon Vance's choker is a gift from his mom and the headcanon Billy wears his mom's old jewelry. I just like the idea of them both holding onto pieces of their mother in simple ways, like them being so similar is what makes it hard for them to see eye to eye, but they're still brought together and connected through their mom in more ways than just blood.

Yes, absolutely. That’s the way I see it, too. I do think it’s interesting that we know so little about Vance, but his choker stands out especially with how soft it is in comparison with the rest of him. There’s something about Billy and Vance both having these hard edges that are softened out by these more feminine elements that people don’t expect out of them. The accessories they wear aren’t particularly masculine, which suggest a connection to their mother(s). I think trauma would make it difficult for either of them to cope with the other’s existence, at least in the beginning, but the connection through their mother would bring them together ultimately.

Summary:

Billy Hargrove thought that his life couldn't get much worse when his father decided to pack up and move them across the country to Denver, Colorado. When he finds himself in the hands of a deranged serial killer, he soon discovers that he had been wrong in assuming his life couldn't get worse. After taking a break for several years, Albert Shaw takes Billy in the hopes of finding someone to replace the role he played as "The Grabber."
