Horne + Caesar || Interview

Horne: *Walks on stage smiling, waves towards the crowd, then shakes Caesars hand.* Caesar, right?

Caesar: Yes my boy, welcome, welcome! *Shakes hand, motions towards seat.* Do sit, do sit. Now, what are your thoughts on the Capitol?

Horne: It's quite nice! Nothing like back home. The buildings here are a heck of a lot taller! *laughs towards the crowd*

Caesar: Right you are! How have you been finding the training? Any skills in particular you have been honing?

Horne: Training's been fun. Met the tributes, learned a few new skills, nothing too big though. And uh.. Yes, I have been working on fine tuning a couple of my talents, but who am I to spoil the surprise, right? *laughs towards the crowd, yet again.*

Caesar: You have a good head on your shoulders, keeping it secret. I love it! So, back home. Is there anybody watching? Rooting for you? And I know it isn't my place to ask, but what are there thoughts on you being forced in? Your reaping was definitely something.

Horne: Yeah, I have a lot of people back home. Are they watching? Not a chance. Most of them don't even know I'm here. Uh. *stutters* I'm just here to fight my way back home, and crush those who stand in my way.

Caesar: We are all looking forward to seeing you in action, you mystery boy! Any final words for home before we finish off?

Horne: Dad. I know you're out there, and I know you ain't listening. But I'm going to fight like you taught me, and if I die in that arena, it won't be for nothing. *stands up, shakes Caesars hand, waves towards the audience whilst leaving stage.

Jamdani Interview

Cesar: Up next we have one half of the famous circus duo, one half of our first pair of twins, please welcome Jamdani Twill! *applause*

Jamdani: *waves with a wide smile. Curtsies to Cesar before taking a seat* Thank you for that warm welcome! Hello, Cesar! How are you?

Cesar: I'm doing fantabulous! How are you, this evening, darling? You certainly look like a dream tonight.

Jamdani: Thank you, Cesar, but I can't all the credit. *giggles* And I'm also doing quite well, tonight. After all, I get to spend my evening with you and all of you! *crowd cheers*

Cesar: You certainly have that charismatic crowd appeal! I bet it comes from all those years of performing in the circus with your brother. Tell us about that.

Jamdani: Well, Cesar, Cypress and I are and have been very close and we utilized our combined strengths to our advantages.

Cesar: And is it safe to assume you two will use those same strengths in the Arena?

Jamdani: Yes, very much so. In the circus ring and in the Arena, you've got to know what to do. No matter what, the show must go on, and we're here to perform for you all.

Cesar: Quite the performer, Miss Jamdani. Tell us, this has been on everyone's minds, and surely it must have been on yours, and certainly I'll be asking Cypress this as well. How do you plan on going into the Arena with your brother if only one of you gets out alive?

Jamdani: That's definitely a hot topic, I can assure you *giggles* but Cypress and I are prepared to fight for each other, but we are also ready to do the best we can to ensure that one of us gets out of here alive. It'll be a performance no one will want to miss *winks followed by audience cheers*

Cesar: Ooh, keeping us on the edge of our seats, I like that! Last question of the night, who is out there for you tonight?

Jamdani: Letia, Cypress and I love you so much. You mean more than the world to us and we can never thank you enough for all you've done for us. Stay safe, stay loving. *blows kiss to the camera*

Cesar: That certainly warms my heart *wipes a tear away* And that's all the time we have for the lovely and beautiful Jamdani Twill!

Jamdani: Thank you so much for the hospitality! *waves and blows kisses out. Audience cheers and applauds*

District Ten Interview || Sawyer Caldwell

Caesar: Let's give a warm welcome to District Ten's Sawyer Caldwell!

Sawyer: *struts onto stage and waves at cheering crowd, before facing Caesar and shaking his hand firmly* Hello, Caesar. I'm so glad to be here.

Caesar: And it's lovely to have you here as well. Now, I must first comment on this lovely outfit. Your stylists have outdone themselves with this one, I must say. The black and white, I assume it has to do with your home District.

Sawyer: Yes, they certainly seem to be sticking to their theme. *she gives a tight smile, before smoothing out her dress* You are correct. My family raises free range cows. Some of you here may drink their milk or buy their beef. It's the best in Panem. *there are scattered cheers from the crowd*

Caesar: Ah! How could I forget the Caldwell Farm? And speaking of, are you missing it there? I imagine coming to the Capitol must have been quite the culture shock.

Sawyer: In all honesty, I'm really not. I was, and am, so excited to be here. Everything here in the Capitol is so far advanced from what we have in Ten. It's the main reason I volunteered for the Games.

Caesar: Yes you did! I think I can speak for everyone when I say your volunteering was quite the shock. It's not often we get a volunteer from the outlying Districts. Your dedication to get to us is admirable.

Sawyer: *smiling genuinely, the excitement in her voice obvious* It really has been a pleasure to be here. The Training Center is truly a feat of magnificence. The library within it alone dwarfs the one in Ten in size and content by several times. I've learned so much in the few days I've been here, and I'm looking forward to learning so much more upon my return.

Caesar: I'm glad to hear you've been enjoying your stay and we certainly hope to see you again after the games. Now, tell us about your Private Training Score. Are you happy with it?

Sawyer: *she smiled lightly* It was satisfactory. Of course, I'd prefer to have a higher score, however, I'm afraid my particular talents lay outside of the realm of what can be measured within a fifteen minute session.

Caesar: Oh? Please do elaborate.

Sawyer: I am a strong believer in the idea that a theoretical knowledge of any subject is sufficient for excelling within that subject. There is logic to every obstacle, science that can solve any and every problem that could arise.

Caesar: *chuckles* So you'll be taking a more theoretical approach in the arena?

Sawyer: I'm afraid not. Throughout my training here, it has become clear to me that theory is not always sufficient. However, having a theoretical base allows one to learn and adapt much quicker than those who have no understanding of their subject.

Caesar: I see. Well, I'm sure we are all looking forward to seeing what you have to show us out in the arena. Are you at all worried about your competitors?

Sawyer: Not at all. There are a few that I don't think have it in them to do what needs to be done to come out a Victor. And, to be honest, the rest of them are just inexcusably unintelligent.

Caesar: Such confidence! Well, you've already reported in about your smarts, but what about the rest? You seem like a perfectly proper young lady. Do you think you'll be able to handle it once you get in there?

Sawyer: *she waved her hand lightly* I have no qualms about killing in the arena. I've been slaughtering cattle throughout my childhood. A little more blood with be nothing. *the crowd erupts into cheers*

Caesar: I'm afraid we're running out of time. Is there anything you'd like to say to prospective sponsors or anyone watching at home?

Sawyer: Yes, I'd like to say a few words to Darwin *turns and addresses the camera* I would like to thank you for your continued interest in me. What I said in my letter is what I meant. Being here, being given the opportunity to study within the Capitol and learn and create, is worth everything to me. As for anyone who stands in my way? Well, they won't be standing for much longer.

Caesar: Ms. Sawyer Caldwell, everyone! *the crowd cheers and applauds*

Sawyer: *smiles, shaking Caesar's hand, before curtseying to the crowd and sweeping off the stage*

Ceasar: What an exciting night already! Now to introduce the female from Four, one of the many stars of the Games - welcome, the one and only, Ms. Joan Kucharski!

Joan: *walks slowly onto the stage to let her dress move around her* Hello, everyone! What a pleasure. *smiles and sits, leaning forward to wave at the front audience* And hello to you, too, Ceasar. You are looking lovely, as per the usual.

Ceasar: Oh, you flatter me - I love it! What a doll, truly! And my my, what a wonder you’re wearing! The crowd is absolutely stunned, can you hear them? *waves hand over the audience* Please, go on, show everyone - they’re going absolutely crazy!

Joan: *stands, arms outstretched* Yes, my stylist really outdid herself, didn’t she? Isn’t it wonderful, Ceasar? *fans dress out with hand so it will catch the light, crowd roaring as dress flows around her ankles like water* It’s like being wrapped up in the ocean, just like my home. I’m in love with it. *sits back down*

Ceasar: Well, we can all see why, Miss Kucharski! How stunning you look. You shine just like… well, like the pearls on your dress! Your parents are pearl harvesters, yes?

Joan: Oh, yes, of course. My parents bring back such beautiful trinkets, and I simply had to have them be part of my gown. I’ve even brought my token tonight, atop my head like a tiara - the white anchor. *she taps her head, tilting down so it catches the cameras and audience* It was from my sister, a gift before leaving. 

Ceasar: Marvelous! A token from home, it must be very helpful when feeling homesick. With all of the fanfare you’re causing here tonight, Sponsor Dorothy must be keeping a close watch on your every, rather stunning, move.

Joan: Oh, just Joan, please Ceasar. *waves her hand, blushing* We need no formalities. And oh, I do hope so. I’m not here just to smile and wear these dresses - though they are beautiful, are they not? - but I am here to win. Whatever it takes, even if that means getting a little messy.

Ceasar: Of course, of course! Isn’t she lovely, audience? *crowd shouts and hollers* Dorothy must be eating you up! Quite an impression, if I do say so myself. Say, how are you liking the Capitol? Is it much different from seaside District Four?

Joan: It’s like a dream, Ceasar. So many people and fancy lights, something gorgeous and new behind every turn. Though I’d much rather be in the ocean, my bathtub here will do. *crowd laughs, nodding along*

Ceasar: Naturally! You are causing quite a stir in the Capitol, aren’t you? Rumors have it that you have a budding romance with another Tribute. Care to enlighten us?

Joan: Oh Ceasar, I’d absolutely love to... *crowd goes quiet, Ceasar leaning in* But I don’t kiss and tell. *smiles coyly while audience laughs and cheers*

Ceasar: Oh, you fox! I suppose only time will tell. Speaking of secrets, how did you manage your Private Training score? As a non-Career, you did just as well as any of them. Tell us, how did you pull it off? Was it the hair?

Joan: I wish it was! *laughs, laying hands on her lap* The Careers aren’t the true threat, it would seem. *winks to the audience* There’s still more things to come, though I suppose you’ll all be watching what’s in store tomorrow. I can’t just go on and reveal everything now, now can I?

Ceasar: Keeping us in suspense, I love it! All eyes will be on you. It seems that we’re running out of time to chat, but it has been a delight speaking with a jewel such as yourself. Joan Kucharski of District Four, everyone! *crowd breaks into applause as her dress spins again at departure, waving and blowing kisses*

Salem McHalister Interview

Caesar: Ladies and gentlemen, let’s not waste a second introducing our next tribute, our District One male, who never shies away from a fight, Salem McHalister!

Salem: *walks out onto the stage, wearing his most charming smile* Hello Caesar! how are you?

Caesar: Hello Salem, I’m doing wonderfully! Now we all know District One is no stranger to confrontation, but i have to ask you about your reaping! Normally your districts tributes come from the academies, and I know you are an exception to that. Please, do share!

Salem: *smiles* well, I decided that this was my year and I wasn’t going to allow that child to take my place. *Laughs and turns to face the crowd* After all, what good would he have been here if he couldn't stop me in One?

Caesar: *laughs along with the audience* I must admit Salem, you do have a point and we sure are glad to have you here! *turns to audience* Right folks! *audience cheers* Now, telling me about your experiences in the Capitol, how was training?

Salem: *sighs* Training was...fun. Its just that I've been training for quite some time now. I'm just ready for the arena! But as for the Capitol, I couldn't have loved it more. Its so colorful and bright. It reminds me of District One but on a much grander scale.

Caesar: I love that enthusiasm! *crowd cheers* So what are your plans for the arena? Any Allies, enemies? *leans close to listen*

Salem: *smiles, laughing lightly* Now you know I can't just announce my allies just yet, that would spoil the surprise! But I have made my fair share of enemies. None of whom I'm particularly concerned about.

Caesar: A man of secrets, I can respect that *laughs* So as you know, the Capitol’s own Annabelle Montgomery has taken a liking to you *claps hands together* But, you are up against some pretty stiff competition. How do you think you are a better choice for Annabelle than Judas D’Souza, our highest scoring tribute.

Salem: *smiles at the audience* I mean, why wouldnt she sponsor me? Just like I told her in my appeal letter, who better to sponsor than the victor? *laughs* My private training score is just a rather insignificant portion of what I have to offer you, Even though I’m very pleased with my score! But I know how much you like violence, Annabelle. *winks*

Caesar: *Laughs and claps hands* And I suppose you’ll be bringing the same fire we saw in you at your reaping into the arena?

Salem: Of course Caesar! I prefer to go through Obstacles, rather than around. *smiles*

Caesar: Im sure you do! Now before I have so sadly end our time together do tell, what are your plans for after the Games should you be our victor?

Salem: Well I plan on never going back to the prison I grew up in! I mean why would I go back there when I could be here, in the Capitol! *crowd cheers* And Ill make sure to pay you a visit Caesar! *smirks*

Caesar: Well I'll be waiting impatiently Salem! But now we must say goodbye, But good luck to you! I look forward to you keeping your promise of bloodshed in the arena! *smiles*

Salem: You know I will! *laughs and shakes Caesar’s hand before walking off stage, winking into the cameras*

Caesar: Ladies and Gentlemen this year’s District One Male tribute, Salem McHalister! *crowd erupts with cheers*

saphir basilisk interview

Caesar: To commence this exciting night of interviews, let us welcome the enchantingly enigmatic District One female, Ms. Saphir Basilisk, to the stage with a more than just warm welcome!

Saphir: *seats herself and offers a slight smile*

Caesar: Now, Saphir, to kick off this interview, I'd like to ask you about your reaping, and I'm sure your many fans, and that special sponsor who has his rich little eye on you, would love to know. So, would you mind telling us a bit about that...distasteful man who seemed to harass you at your debut event?

Saphir: *looks up at Caesar* Oh, yes, that was Gaspard Gemeaux. *she smirks, glad that he will receive this negative attention* I lived with him for a very, very, very long time. But I had to escape, and then he got so, so, so upset with me.

Caesar: And your escape, that was volunteering for the games? It seems like a very drastic measure!

Saphir: *nods* I had to escape. I did not care what I had to do. But I have to go back to Gaspard. I will do anything to get back to him. He has to pay.

Caesar: Isn't that just simply intriguing! Don't you think? *looks to the audience* *they clap fervently and shout* That brings us to another interesting topic regarding you. There have been some rumors suggesting that you are not a career, care to respond to them?

Saphir: I did not ever train in one of the academies. I did learn my skills elsewhere, though. They were not very fun to learn. I did not like it at first. But I didn't mind after a while.

Caesar: Well, your deliciously high score of an eleven surely doesn't reflect poorly upon your skills! Would you be able to satisfy all of our curiosity with a hint as to what you did for the Game Makers and sponsors? What do you all think? *rallies the crowd* *crowd erupts with enthusiasm*

Saphir: Oh, well I played a very fun game. I never got to play games at home. I'm glad I got to in my private training session. It was so much fun!

Caesar: Well, I'm very glad that you've been able to experience some enjoyment after the troublesome life you seem to have been cursed with!

Saphir: *remains silent*

Caesar: *interrupts the pause* So, as you may know, sponsor Marcus Icatha is interested in both you and Ms. Brunelle Cooper of District Six. Why do you believe that he should select you over her?

Saphir: Well, I'm not quite sure why Marcus would want to sponsor someone who has to die! Sponsors always like to sponsor the tribute who wins, so he should sponsor me. I have to win. It won't be fair if I don't. Then Gaspard will roam freely.

Caesar: Well we can't have that, can we Saphir? I think when I say this, I speak for everyone in the audience: we're all rooting for you to get your revenge!

Saphir: Thank you. Everyone should. He is not very kind.

Caesar: Before I am forced to regretfully end our interview, may I inquire as to whether you have any plans regarding what you will be spending all of your free doing pending your return?

Saphir: *smiles* I do have plans. I will be opening a very fun entertainment business with Marcus! He will be able to make lots of money from it.

Caesar: That sounds simply marvelous! I will wait with baited breath for further news of this little business of yours! And with that I must bid you adieu, my darling! Good luck, and I look forward to viewing your arena endeavors!

Saphir: *rises and turns around, walking off stage as the scars on her back show*

Caesar: Give it up for Saphir Basilisk, this year's District One female! *audience roars*

District Three Interview || Naxos Cadfan

Caesar: Next up coming all the way from District 3, welcome Mr. Naxos Cadfan! *crowd applauds and cheers*

Naxos: *walks on stage with a bright smile and waves to the crowd. He grasps Caesars hand in a firm shake and takes his seat* Hail Caesar! How are you tonight?

Caesar: *laughs* That's a greeting I've never heard before! I am doing wonderful. But we're all wondering how you are, Mr. Cadfan? Have you been enjoying your time in the Capitol?

Naxos: I'm doing well! And yes I have been! It's a lot bigger and more colorful than the cities back home, but I'm used to the crowds and hustle and bustle. Until now I thought Three was the city that never sleeps.

Caesar: I can assure you we do, have to get that beauty sleep in at some point. *chuckles* Tell us about your private training, being one of the many 8's awarded this year. Are you happy with your score?

Naxos: That I am. *he smiles* Though I was only able to show the Game Makers and other spectators only some of my tricks of the trade. Have to save some surprises for the Arena, right?

Caesar: Certainly! And speaking of surprises, I was surprised to hear that I would be sitting among one of the future educators of Panem tonight! Tell us about that!

Naxos: Now, who did you hear that from? *Naxos smiles, the crowd laughs* I've always enjoyed school and learning, why not give back to the educational system that has taught me so much by becoming one of their own? Help enrich the minds of future generations!

Caesar: *scattered applause and cheers emerges from the audience* That is wonderful to hear! Oh, it's been so long since I have been in school. Is there a particular topic you would like to teach?

Naxos: History, it's always been my favorite.

Caesar: I always had so much trouble remembering all the names and dates, and who did what when. *Naxos and the audience laugh* So when your're not studying up, what's a boy from Three like yourself do for fun?

Naxos: When I'm not at school or working, I'm usually with my family. I have three brothers, two younger and one older. You can say my parents definitely have their hands filled with us.

Caesar: Everyone loves a family man! No lucky lady in your life? A handsome lad like yourself must have girls crawling to get some after school help with you!

Naxos: Can't say there is.

Caesar: That's not what I hear! *he shoots an exaggerated wink at the audience, who laugh and clap*

Naxos: *smiles and laughs lightly, his face beginning to flush* No comment

Caesar: *laughs* Oh, alright, party pooper! Since you've been such a sport, I'll tell you who my informant is about your future endeavors, the Capitol's own Dr. Benedict Miller! *the audience woops and applauds* Seems Dr. Miller has taken an interest in you. Any thoughts?

Naxos: *looks to the camera* Once again I am deeply honored and cannot express my gratitude for your consideration enough. If I am fortunate enough to fall in your favor and be your choice, know that you will not be disappointed. I only hope the small taste I provided during the private session yesterday was enough to convince you of my abilities, and there may just be a few more tricks up my sleeve. *he smiles at the camera and then turns back to Caesar*

Caesar: *audience applauds and cheers* And we wish you the best of luck, Mr. Cadfan! Any plans for the Arena, will you be allying with anyone or are you a lone wolf?

Naxos: Now, now, Caesar, I do believe I mentioned but a moment ago I will be saving my surprises for the big day. *he shoots the Host a playful pout* You may want to start taking notes. *he smiles and winks at Caesar* But to answer your former, a wise man once said that it is a supreme art to subdue your opponent without fighting; that strategy and planning is the translation of knowledge to practical life, the improvement of the original leading thought in accordance with continually changing situations. I believe that will see me through just as well as the use of any weapon.

Caesar: Impressive! Maybe I should be taking notes on this. I just hope there isn't a quiz after this!

Naxos: I'll give you an A for effort!

Caesar: Oh, I was a teacher's pet in my day! *the crowd claps and laughs* Well, our time is coming to an end here, Mr. Cadfan. Anything you would like to say to your loved ones back home?

Naxos: *looks to the camera with a warm smile* I love and miss you all deeply. Don't get into too much trouble without me, and hopefully I will see you soon.

Caesar: *crowd aww's* There you've had it ladies and gentlemen, Naxos Cadfan of District Three! *the crowd cheers and applauds*

Naxos: *stands and shakes Caesar's hand one last time, waving to the crowd as he exits with a great smile.*
