Half a Sandwich
After a few hours, Salem woke up from his nap when the jingle from the night before rang again. He jumped up from behind the counter, and glanced about the room. The many television screens flickered on and Salem grabbed his pack, fishing out half a sandwich. He sat on the counter top and watched as he ate.
First up, Salem saw himself and smiled. He watched as his metal box met the girls face over and over again. He took a bite from the sandwich, knowing that the girl he was watching die again was the very person who consumed the other half. He found that to be funny.
Next was the girl from Eleven and the one from Six. He had’t met either of them in the Capitol, so he had no clue who to predict as the winner of this fight. But soon enough he killed the girl, Salem shrugged. Indifferent to their encounter.
What came next sent his stomach into a knot. Cyprus and the girl from Four, were up against the crazy bitch from Two. The sandwich sat on the counter as Salem watched closer. He remembered what she did to the boy from Four yesterday, so he grew nervous. He found himself silently hoping for Cyprus to come out of this fight. But half of him needs him to die now, so he won’t meet him in the arena. But then his body fell to the floor. A sigh of relief and a sound of pain mixed into one. His partner went next and Wednesday walked off.
The screens shut off and was played out by the jingle. The doors in front of the food court began to reach for the floors. Salem grabbed onto his sandwich, returned to his spot on the floor behind the counter and finished it before returning to bed.
Arena Update: Day Two
Location: Food Court (orange section)
Allies: Still dead
Items: A pack: Basic map of the Mall, One ham sandwich (he finished blake’s), One bottle of nestea (this too), Half a punnet of summer strawberries, Twenty matches, Six feet of rope, Basic first aid kit (Two bandages, antiseptic cream, alcohol wipes) 10 Buffalo Nickels, and a brand new metal box.
Weapons: A cleaver, and a hunter’s knife
Injuries: I got stabbed in the chest (almost fully healed but also not really) Whipped on the neck (kind of healing) lightly bruised chin, bruised nose, shallow cut on chest, cleaver to the shoulder (cleaned, cauterized, flesh sprayed, and bandaged) Cleaver to the thigh (cleaned, cauterized, flesh sprayed, and bandaged)
Notes: I killed the girl from Nine that I punched in the bloodbath. Then i went to the food court and fixed my shit.
Man Down
As you walk further in, you see no immediate threats. You’re safe for now.
Salem was elated to find nothing else in the food court. The room was well lit, nothing learning around. He could relax here, at least for the night.
If he made it through the night. He rushed over to a table and threw himself into one of the chairs. He finally released his cleaver and set his pack on the table. His other hand remaining on his thigh. With his free hand, he quickly hurried through his pack, finding 1 and a half sandwiches, a bunch of strawberries, a map and a first aid kit.
Man Down
When you enter the food court you find it empty. Do you go further and explore?
Salem peers into the large room. It is empty, and silent. He considers turning around and heading in another direction, but then he remembers his leg. He needs to sit somewhere and tend to his wounds quickly.
So, with no other choice, Salem walks further into the food court, his cleaver clutched tightly in hand.
A parachute falls down at Salem’s feet as soon as he enters the food court. Inside is ten buffalo nickels.
That was excellent! Keep up the good work Salem - GM Ophelia & GM Styx
Man Down
A fight he didn't want in the slightest, but thank fuck that little bitch had some shit on her. His box is completely broken. But a pair of knives are an okay substitute. Salem Held onto his thigh with one hand, the hunter’s knife in the other. He was down, but he isn't about the let his guard down.
For the first time Salem found himself somewhere new. The walls around him were yellow rather than red. He looked around, noticing a few shops he knew he wasn't able to get into, and a few that look like they're in use.
He holds his thigh tighter as he rushes out of the yellow section and into the large central hallway. To his left, he sees a fountain, on the far side of it is something he needs t get away from. A set of three tributes, recognizing tall three of them. Instead of sticking around so they have a chance to spot him, he quickly turns right and rushes towards a larger section. The food court.

Arena Update: Day One
Location: Soap and Gory (Red A)
Allies: She died
Items: A metal box....
Weapons: Crazy bitch robbed me, tf?
Injuries: I got stabbed in the chest (healing with flesh spray) Whipped on the neck (kind of healing with flesh spray) _Punched in the chin, and kneed in the back.
Notes: In the bloodbath I was able to kill that quiet bitch from Seven, and managed to get my hands on a sword. HOWEVER, physco Megan from Wonderland attacked Saphir and I. Saphir died, and now I'm hiding with beauty products.
The cosmetics store, aptly named Soap and Gory seems to be calm, the decor is white and baby pink stripes that run through everything and there’s a certain old world charm about the place. As you watch there is nothing unusual that stands out to you, and look, you got a parachute too!
Inside, Salem saw nothing of alarm. The large room was quiet and still. Dim lighting illuminating the rows of shelves. He smiled, but was interrupted by a systematic beeping. Slightly panicked, he turned and pressed his back to the window. Ready to defend himself against an attack. He he was relieved when he glanced up to see a metal box floating down towards him. He smiled and quickly grabbed onto the parachute and disappeared inside the store.
Salem heads directly to the back of the Soap and Gory. He rolled his eyes at the sign. He passed isles of makeup and hair products. He looked around to see if he could find anything with alcohol in it, but was left empty handed.
He threw his body down once he was behind the counter, removing his jacket. He had to know what was in the parachute. He undid the metal latch on the box and found a nice sized can of...spray flesh? He smiled and laughed to himself. He didn't give a shit how strange this was. He pulled off his shirt and peered down at his chest.
a narrow line spread across his ribs, dripping blood more slowly than before. He was very short of breath, and it was only becoming worse. He inspected the label once more and made the connection. He licked his lips and gritted his teeth, readying himself.
Slowly, he inserted the nozzle into his open wound. He felt the cold plastic move deeper into his chest. He began to sweat. He had to stay silent, so he only groaned, holding his breath to fight back grunts of pain. He threaded the nozzle between his ribs and began to spray the contents.
His wound filled with a cold foamy substance that felt heavy. He counted to 2 slowly and began to remove it, easing the pressure on the nozzle. He choked out inaudible sounds of pain, but it didn't hurt very much for long. The cooling and hardening of the foam helped the burn. Soon he felt as if he could take deeper breaths without mind splitting pain, he did not test this theory however.
His hand fell to the side, with it the half empty can of flesh spray. He tried to control his breaths until the initial pain in his chest began to fade. But as it did so, his neck’s burning became more prominent. The whip had shredded his skin, so he used a bit more of the spray flesh, applying a thin layer, covering the entire wound. He knew that it wouldn't be enough to heal himself fully, but it would sure as fuck help with the process.
Then suddenly a quick jingle played and Salem jumped to his feet. He glanced around the store and a screen caught his eye near the entrance. He watches closely as an announcement commences. And as the screen plays out the deaths from day one, ending with Saphir before the screen goes black. Playing it out with another jingle.
For a moment Salem looks around the store, and out the glass wall at the front. He hears nothing until the metal doors begin to lower themselves outside the windows. He considers running so he doesn't get trapped, but then he replays the announcement in his head. So all he does is sit back down behind the counter and rest his head against the wall. His wounds go numb, and he shuts his eyes.
A parachute floats down to land infront of Salem as he chooses where to go next. Inside is what appears to be a spray can with a long, strawlike nozzle attached to it. The label reads.
“Synthetic Flesh Spray. Insert nozzle into damaged area and apply for 2 seconds then rest for at least 4 hours. Do not overapply.”
There is no note.
As Salem reads there are 3 different stores closest to him. There’s one that appears to be a nickel store, a music shop and a cosmetics store are the closest three to him, there are more shops in the arena but you can’t make out the names unless you move closer.
Salem peered up at the three closest stores. He didn't feel like trudging further to inspect anymore stores. So he weighed his options. He was battered and broke, so the nickel shop made no sense to him. That one instantly being checked off the list.
The music shop could've been nice way to pass the time if he’s to bleed out, the cosmetics shop was his best bet. Salem walked slowly over to the store, peering in through the window before he dared to enter.
TF?
Salem heard a cannon boom and he wasn't sure if it was his or not. He creeped his neck slightly and was met with the sight of Meredith holding Saphir’s head. Only her head. Quickly he rested his head back down and quietly waited for the psychotic bitch to leave. He wanted nothing more than to burst from the floor and break her fucking neck, but that wasn't smart given the fact that he had been stabbed in the lung.
Saphir stops. She slips her shoes and socks off. She’ll be able to have more fun without them. A smile dances across her lips. A bloodthirsty, sadistic smile. She hears something, someone behind her. A mischievous, excited look appears in her eyes as she reaches out for Salem’s hand, tugging on it. He shoots a questioning glance at Saphir, but the expression melts into one of exhilaration when he spots someone beyond Saphir. Someone whom he had been waiting to dispose of. Saphir spins lightly on her heels to receive the girl sprinting towards them. Her unsettling smile grows in size when her eyes fall upon Alice.
She had been very rude to Saphir towards the end of their conversation. Alice had told Saphir that she would never be able to find and experience Wonderland, let alone manage to survive in the mysterious, seemingly magical place. She had insinuated that Saphir would perish in the arena, and that Alice herself would be triumphant. Saphir was not pleased by such an insinuation. Alice couldn’t be victorious.

Salem McHalister Interview
Caesar: Ladies and gentlemen, let’s not waste a second introducing our next tribute, our District One male, who never shies away from a fight, Salem McHalister!
Salem: *walks out onto the stage, wearing his most charming smile* Hello Caesar! how are you?
Caesar: Hello Salem, I’m doing wonderfully! Now we all know District One is no stranger to confrontation, but i have to ask you about your reaping! Normally your districts tributes come from the academies, and I know you are an exception to that. Please, do share!
Salem: *smiles* well, I decided that this was my year and I wasn’t going to allow that child to take my place. *Laughs and turns to face the crowd* After all, what good would he have been here if he couldn't stop me in One?
Caesar: *laughs along with the audience* I must admit Salem, you do have a point and we sure are glad to have you here! *turns to audience* Right folks! *audience cheers* Now, telling me about your experiences in the Capitol, how was training?
Salem: *sighs* Training was...fun. Its just that I've been training for quite some time now. I'm just ready for the arena! But as for the Capitol, I couldn't have loved it more. Its so colorful and bright. It reminds me of District One but on a much grander scale.
Caesar: I love that enthusiasm! *crowd cheers* So what are your plans for the arena? Any Allies, enemies? *leans close to listen*
Salem: *smiles, laughing lightly* Now you know I can't just announce my allies just yet, that would spoil the surprise! But I have made my fair share of enemies. None of whom I'm particularly concerned about.
Caesar: A man of secrets, I can respect that *laughs* So as you know, the Capitol’s own Annabelle Montgomery has taken a liking to you *claps hands together* But, you are up against some pretty stiff competition. How do you think you are a better choice for Annabelle than Judas D’Souza, our highest scoring tribute.
Salem: *smiles at the audience* I mean, why wouldnt she sponsor me? Just like I told her in my appeal letter, who better to sponsor than the victor? *laughs* My private training score is just a rather insignificant portion of what I have to offer you, Even though I’m very pleased with my score! But I know how much you like violence, Annabelle. *winks*
Caesar: *Laughs and claps hands* And I suppose you’ll be bringing the same fire we saw in you at your reaping into the arena?
Salem: Of course Caesar! I prefer to go through Obstacles, rather than around. *smiles*
Caesar: Im sure you do! Now before I have so sadly end our time together do tell, what are your plans for after the Games should you be our victor?
Salem: Well I plan on never going back to the prison I grew up in! I mean why would I go back there when I could be here, in the Capitol! *crowd cheers* And Ill make sure to pay you a visit Caesar! *smirks*
Caesar: Well I'll be waiting impatiently Salem! But now we must say goodbye, But good luck to you! I look forward to you keeping your promise of bloodshed in the arena! *smiles*
Salem: You know I will! *laughs and shakes Caesar’s hand before walking off stage, winking into the cameras*
Caesar: Ladies and Gentlemen this year’s District One Male tribute, Salem McHalister! *crowd erupts with cheers*
Candle Styx || Salem & Styx
I could’ve laughed when Salem mentioned Judas without mentioning him, there was one thing that you could rely on with a Career and that was their pride and how easily it was bruised, like an already softening apple.
“It’s a good plan, you may go the whole games without seeing him again. Wouldn’t that be nice?” I smirk, feeling the beginning of the buzz I got from the alcohol. I had to keep my head around tributes but other than that I was here to enjoy myself just as much as everyone else was. “One last question, call it morbid curiosity, What’s the one thing you wouldn’t like to see when you rise from your tube tomorrow into the arena?”
I shrug. “I suppose.” I sip the rest of the water in the cup and set it aside.
“The last thing id want to see?” I repeat, contemplating the question for a moment. I understand what Styx means exactly by his question. “A lack of bloodshed, tributes living. I want as much of them dead as soon as possible. Thats the last thing i would want to see.”
Candle Styx || Salem & Styx
“It’s interesting that you’re allying with her and her Private Training score was impressive.” I comment, “She does seem to be taken with the idea of returning back to her district and plotting some kind of revenge. I wouldn’t bank on her keeping you around for very long if you somehow threatened that plan.”
“Is there anyone that you’re particularly worried about Salem? I mean I understand that you’re trained and you’re unspookable on all accounts but humour me.”
“Well i have my own plans to get home. Like I said, she’ll be useful to me. I won't be letting my guard down around her, not for a second. Ive got my own plans, don't you worry.” I smile, sinisterly.
“Aside from the obvious, the one that got the highest score. But i don't know what he did to get it. Ill be watching out for him.”
