- Daphne’s middle name is Francesca after the Francesca in Dante’s Inferno because she should get to have a poignant Classical reference all her own (also that Hozier album had just come out)
- Gale takes his tea the way my grandmother took hers
- Aurilssbarg is mostly White River Junction, Vermont but in the ocean; and the college is Dartmouth. Bjorn’s Hold is Woodstock, Vermont.
- this whole thing was supposed to end after chapter 9 but then people kept leaving me comments saying how they couldn’t wait to see Mystra get got and I was like. Well. Time to write a novel I fucking guess
- a lot of her friendship with Astarion is just my relationship with my beloved high school best friend, who is doing amazing now and I’m so proud of them I’ll start crying if I think about it too hard
- I decided to make Rolan’s last name Wormwood because of the devil in The Screwtape Letters
