Over a year later and I am still thinking of that moment in TBTWP when Brienne takes Jaime's shirt off and he makes this expression of pure confusion.

It is the one moment in the scene where I can't get a handle on what the character is thinking. (Thank you NCW and GC for your gifts)

Why is he confused? He initiated this striptease and Brienne already unbuttoned his shirt. He knows it is going down.

Here are some of the theories I have tried on for size:

He was in a daze after Brienne left her shirt open :insert Jeff Goldblum lounging in Jurassic Park gif:

Could it be that Cersei never took off his clothes in 30 years? Seems unlikely but they did always have those fast furtive fucks that seemed more like masturbation

They were going to use the shot to cut to removing the golden hand but ran out of CGI money rendering nightvision dragons last episode

He forgot how shirts work

"Gentler than Cersei"?

The Nelly "Hot in Here" soundtrack skipped

His squires usually cut his shirt off because Lannisters wouldn't be caught dead wearing the same shirt anyway

Thought he would have continue to initiate but then she meets him step for step :sobs:

Any other head canons out there?

The fact that George often compares characters to the animal of their house sigil and the fact that George writes astonishingly cheesy sex scenes makes me think that there is a 110% chance that Jaime will “Roar” when he reaches climax during tbtwp he may even “Purr” at some point.

They are both SO nervous for one to be in the presence of the other’s mad queen... like after that negative energy has been banished. Then. THEN.)
