T By Daniel
I just wanted to make a quick post on a person that was a real treat to meet, and who teas and brand were a real treat to drink. I first discovered T By Daniel at the 2019 Toronto Tea Festival. Their booth really stood out with it’s bright and colorful backdrop and packaging. It immediately drew me to the table, where I first saw Daniel. He was as fun, and energetic as the picture above would have him seen. And yes he was wearing an awesome bow tie.
He was great to talk to and quite inspiring. He told me the story of how he got into tea and what encouraged him to start his own brand. And the teas were fantastic. Particularly his WOW Oolong tea blend. Included in his selection of tea blends was one that was presented to Prince Charles by Daniel and his wife called “Polo with the Prince”.
Me and my wife both bought a wide variety of his tea blends and enjoyed them thoroughly, and were very excited to possibly see Daniel again at the 2020 Toronto Tea Festival. Sadly we missed the festival but I guess in a way it was for the best as the Covid outbreak took over not too long after the festival.
Unfortunately I received an email a couple weeks ago, announcing the closure of T By Daniel. Sadly the pandemic got the better of the brand as it has with many small businesses. The remaining stock went on sale, but sold out so fast I wasn’t able to get my hands on any of it. I’m very sad to see it go, but thankfully Daniel and his wife are still running virtual tea tastings amongst other things.
Hopefully one day his brand of tea blends will make a triumphant return, but until then good luck to Daniel and his wife on their future endeavors.
