KRS was working as babysitter for Drakes but when Mr & Mrs Drake died, he become Tims guardian / dad figure. Idk if it was Tims initiative or KRS. KRS wouldn't like to leave an alone child right after said child has expireinced death of his parents.

Dick: Oh so you have yourself a Bruce?
Tim: What
Jason: Oh you know what he's meant
Tim: No I don't... You mean KRS?
Dick: Yeah, the only difference is that as far as I can tell he can normally talk about his emotions with you.
Tim: ... It's complicated.
Jason: What do you mean? He regularly tells you how he's proud of you and how he loves you as his son.
Tim: Yeah but he doesn't tell me if he's hurting.
Dick: huh?
Jason: That's...
Tim: One time I have to confront him, that he keep on working in the garden with broken ribs. And he said and I quite „It's nothing I can't stand, and the garden duty is mine alone“.
Jason: Yaiks
Dick: That's vigilante behaviour. (Or sick Alfred behaviour)
Tim: Yes, and he is a civilian, he has no right to have such high pain tolerance.
Jason: Are we sure he isn't a vigiliante?
Tim: I would have noticed.. But then again, he knows I'm Red Robin. But I don't know how he knows.
(Short story, they didn't think about other versions, such as military or assassins or just past abuse. Because they got little bit carryed away) (Bruce was not amused.)
