I’ve written out “Stockholm” about a hundred times for the map I’m making. The newest addition to my map #tcmaps series. The ones I wrote out before it didn’t feel right and I keep going back into the map to make adjustments, tweaks and do-overs, however, I think it’s finally going to get printed this week just in time for a craft show in Walnut Creek, CA this coming Saturday and Sunday. I went down memory lane while making this map, revisiting the joys of my year studying in Stockholm when I was 20-21 years old. After about 3 months working on this map, I can’t wait to show you the final piece in the next coming posts! Sketching out a handlettered map of Stockholm, Sweden. Has any ever been? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For all the new and old followers who dont already know, I LOVE and CRAVE traveling, exploring somewhere completely new and all of the benefits (life lessons, food and culture) that come with it. I used to travel a lot, but now that I’m working (adulting) and my free time is limited, I try to travel somewhere new at least once a year (on a budget) and when I’m not traveling, I’m creating maps of cities I’ve been to or lived in to tame that travel bug. (The travel bug is real) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (If you’re still reading, thank you! 🤗) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Each map I make, I try to capture the essence of what that city means to me through hand lettering/calligraphy. In making the maps, I’m re-discovering and learning about the city all over again and I have an even more special connection with it afterwords. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This map is of Stockholm, Sweden. Or “Stockhome” to my study abroad friends.
