When it comes to The Count of Monte Cristo, a lot has been said about his quest for revenge and how it consumes him, or almost consumes him, or consumes three quarters of him, or whatever. I'm going to choose violence and say that I believe Edmond deserved his vengeance (go fuck them up, Edmond), but also I think it would be interesting to explore what would have happened had he not started on his revenge. What if he just rewarded the Morrels and left everyone else alone, let Mercedes go on living with Fernand etc. How do you think the story would go?

Who takes the role of Abbe Faria in your MHA TCMC Fanfiction?

Oh- I've been wanting to talk about this for a long time!

All for One/Zen Shigaraki is in this role! The original version of RATS was just a 1-to-1 retelling of The Count of Monte Cristo, so I had someone else for the role. That character was Stain.

However, RATS went through a massive overhaul. Rather than being a 1-to-1 retelling, it's now an AU that is a fusion of both My Hero Academia and The Count of Monte Cristo. If that makes enough sense.

All for One being the dark Abbe Faria of the story was one of the many writing decisions I made during the rewrite. Mainly because I thought it would be fun to have All for One give Iida his quirk in place of the massive fortune. (I do have more reasons than this but I'll explain those another time. I am exhausted.)
