i really love the way noone even pretends that jessica has actual fight training. like, shes a woman who got experimented on and randomly gained superstrength, shes not a ninja like matt or an ex cop like luke. any fight scene, shes basically just winging it, she only really shines when shes up against people who are also just normal and not martial art gods.
its just fucking funny to see matt kick and punch and parry at lightning speed and jessica just jumps in from the sidelines and shoves someone
The thing is, you know approximately when the merge is. (halfway through the game.) You also would know how long your season would be, since thats easily obtainable information IRL.
In the absolute beginning of the game (say, 0-33% completion), vote of your team's weakest members. Either people that stir up conflict like Eva, or just generally inept people. I'd say it doesn't matter if someone bombs 1 challenge, their expected performance in future challenges is more important.
Throwing challenges at this point is a stupid idea, since a lot of times, overall numbers is an advantage. It also makes you look like you should get voted off, which you can't risk. Overall, I'd aim to look good but not too good (maybe third most useful on the team), but winning the most challenges is realistically more important.
Then, once you've hit one-third mark, your strategy should turn on a dime. Don't actively throw challenges, but half-ass them. If it comes time to vote someone off, try to convince some friends to vote for the most useful people on your team. Because your half-assing challenges, it won't be you.
Post Merge? Congrats! You've made it through. Get into the biggest alliance possible that doesn't turn on each other and the million is yours.
I’ve been listening to the TDWT songs - as one does - and in I'm Gonna Make It, we have:
Alejandro: "Voting for me just wasn't right / so look out now you're in my sights" Heather: "Mr. Fair now, suddenly / I have to barf now, excuse me / Don't try to make me feel ashamed / I know you would have done the same"
This is, of course, referring to Heather voting for Alejandro even after she promises not to in Awww, Drumheller. But the thing is, with regards to "I know you would have done the same..."
Would he?
In The EX-Files, Duncan agrees to save Alejandro from the alien electrocuting him if he promises not to vote Duncan off. Alejandro agrees. And lo and behold, at the end of the episode, Tyler completely believes that Duncan is going home... only to be told that he's the one being eliminated instead.
Clearly Alejandro kept his word and *didn't* vote for Duncan, since Tyler clearly did and if they had both voted for Duncan, it would have been a tiebreaker at best (assuming both Duncan and Owen voted Tyler) or a Duncan elimination (if Owen did not vote Tyler.)
Of course, since Tyler's clumsiness did blow the win for Team Chris, that could have been a strong motivator for Alejandro to vote him off. But on the other hand, earlier in the episode he specifically says that Duncan is a strong player, and that this is a problem. Yet Alejandro does keep his word, and doesn't vote off Duncan this episode.
So it seems to me that, in all likelihood, if Alejandro had been in Heather's place, he would have kept his word. I mean, he doesn't even particularly like Duncan, but he didn't vote him off; with Heather, who he does like, I find it unlikely that he would have broken his promise like Heather did. Having now overanalysed a few lines of a single song in TDWT, I bid you adieu.
So I’m watching all the old Talking Dead episodes. And I have to say, Sarah Silverman was a big disappointment. I’d put her as the second worst guest I’ve seen after Marilyn Manson. (It really didn’t help that she said that the only character she had cared about since the beginning of the show was th’guv’na.) *shudder*
