Hello please tell me some of your favorite Jean x Lucien scenes (especially ones that you feel are underrated) for reasons
When the show creators direct the viewers to “talk amongst yourselves”
Adelaide.
What the bloody hell happened in Adelaide?
Jean: Lucien. Who is it?
Me, groaning under my breath: Ugh!
Lucien, shit totally freaked: My wife...
The spirit of Genevieve Blake: Qu’est ce que fuck!?
I can tell I'm watching too much period drama because today I used the words "I dare say" and, when I unexpectedly saw a friend of mine I hadn't seen in 2 years, greeted her with "Hannah! As I live and breathe!"
Henry/Elizabeth or Lucien/Jean? If you had to pick one couple ?
Such a tough question, anon! Elizabeth and Henry were my OTP for probably 4 or 5 years, but it's been a while since I watched msec. I just discovered TDBM in like December, and so Jean and Lucien are new and exciting to me! Also, after watching a couple that was already together and then a couple that never ended up together (rip Callian), it was soooooo refreshing to have a ship to really root for, and then the satisfaction of them finally finding their way to each other. That being said, I think E and H are probably the healthiest portrayal of a real married couple that I have ever seen. They love each other so deeply, after 20+ years of marriage. They fight for each other and for their relationship through the tough times. When it gets really bad, they go to couples therapy. They are open and honest. They do things wrong and then apologize for them. They are partners in marriage and in parenting. They support each other's work. And they are just head over heels in love. So all of that being said, I think I must choose Elizabeth and Henry. If I must.
Thanks for the question, anon, and keep em coming!
I asked Sydney what she thinks will happen in Season 4. Here are her predictions.
- Now that Munro is gone, Matthew will get to be superintendent
- Mattie will get a man
- Maybe Lucien will make some progress with his daughter, maybe we'll get to see her
- Jean's a grandmother! if she's not going to the baby maybe the baby will visit and we'll get to meet her
- I feel like we'll learn more about Lucien's spy background
- Jean and Lucien both clearly know they love each other. So season whatever's-next is gonna be like, building the actual relationship of romance. There'd better be wooing. I hope there's more piano and more hands around the neck.
- something is going to happen either to the honkytonk car or to Lucien's car [this is based on our previous conversation]
- David [this is what she keeps calling Charlie even though she likes him now]. Is he here to stay? Is he going back to [can't remember the word Melbourne] Marin County? Malibu? Marietta?
- Alice is going to continue to be a badass bitch. She's going to form a bromance with Jean. [She could not think of anyone Alice would form an actual romance with. She literally listed the men on the show including Matthew and then was like "but I don't see her with any of them" and I'm-]
- Jean will wear something that I'll probably insult accidentally
- Lucien and Jean get a dog
What did your sister think of Joy MacDonald?
Hmm. Let's ask her.
"Oh, I already hate this guy." ~my sister Sydney, 0.2 seconds after meeting William Munroe
Usually I don't like her making snap judgments on people (like Alice, who she likes now btw) but this time I'm actually fine with it.
After the scene ended - "Am I allowed to dislike him, Macy?"
"Yes. Immediately and with abandon."
