TDF hosting a contest?

Wow my main blog almost has 250 followers! I know it’s not a major number but that’s a quarter of a thousand! And that means over 200 peeps decided to click the little follow button to see what this tol nerd does :3

Also since it’s summer and I've got more time on my hands, i was thinking of celebrating it with a little contest! Since I mostly post art and fanfics up here, probs gonna have it centered around that. Some ideas so far...

A fanart contest of my ocs?

fanart contest based on my fics? (drawing scenes from my fics)

liveblog contest of my fics?

audio recording contest of my fics/comics? (tho those can take a long time to make so probs not, as much as I love to hear my fans cry over my fics)

...not sure, but let me know what y’all think! Since it’s summer, and it’s been a long freshman year for me, I wanna do something fun! Prizes would be either drabbles or art by me :)

Today’s the day.

I take my last final, Linear Algebra, 45% of my grade, which i’ve studied for the past week.

After that, cleaning my dorm room and I’m home free.

This entire week felt...like a fog of numbness, even tho lots of good things happened this week. Really good. So good I felt like sharing, so here I go;

-My discrete math exam was graded and I made a 89% on it; not bad, and an improvement from the last one.

-I filmed my roommate and friend for a short film for my digital art class and had fun doing it. It’s almost done, just have to put in the credits and some finishing touches.

-After getting all the footage on Thursday, my friend and I started talking on the way back to my dorm room and we ended up staying there chatting about fandoms and fan fiction and childhood for two hours straight. And I loved every moment.

-I got closer to my friend, I think I have a squish on this tiny nerd >///<

-I checked out a club on my campus called “All Write All Write All Write” and we passed around pages and just added sentences to make a story and they were all either golden or hilarious. Also we get to critique other’s works so I’m excited to share my ocs with them.

-I’ve got the feeling I’m going to be right at home with that club

-some of my sketches were meh, but some were fantastic, I even doodled some fanart I hope to color this weekend (guess who?)

-one of the girls at the club was nice, nerdy, and turns out she's dating one of my friends! It’s a small world!

-one of my favorite webcomics updated and oh, it is lovely. Just lovely.

-I’m starting to be able to fall asleep sooner. Thank heavens.

-I’ve got a more solid idea on what classes to register for next semester, so not as anxious.

-put some new tunes on my iTunes. Always a sure-fire way to get my creative juices flowing again.

...yet I still feel like I’m going though a numb, dumb fog. Not really excited anymore, and it’s hard to motivate myself to do stuff, especially for long periods of time. Even things I once loved to do now feel tiring...

But looking back on the good things did make me feel better. Maybe I should do this more often.

Yesterday I got the most AMAZING package in the mail. A belated birthday present from the talented, thoughtful @lonelydragoness! A 3-D printed and hand painted RGB keychain! In a cute box!! And the most heartfelt note I have ever received in my life!!!

Thank you SO MUCH!! I don’t care that it’s late it is the BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER. EVER EVER EVER. Thank you!!! I even drew Spella and little jeebs for you! Hats off to you dragoness! (jeebs stop frowning and take ur hat off too)

My OC groups!

So my friend @mahotou was curious as to how I group my ocs...so here’s a quick little break down! (tho they are subject to change). Note I’ll only do ones I’ve drawn/talked about to avoid confusion unless enough peeps are curious. In reality there are WAY more.

Group 1: traveling circus

Jamie: After running away from their home with their parents help, they sneak onto the train of the circus and is quickly adopted as gopher and electrical technician.

Josephine: A woman with octopus tentacles on her head, she is a performer as well as the cook. She also helps out with setting up the lights behind the scenes.

Tobin: A giant flyman who plays a one man orchestra with his music device. Only he can play it because he’s the only one with enough arms. Is Josephine’s boyfriend and shares a long history with her.

Suzy: A homunculus who goes by female pronouns. Mischievous as she is flexible, Suzy is a contortionist and doctor. Her body parts sometimes fall off her and must be sewn back on.

Reggie: A reverse werewolf, turning human once a month for a week. He acts pompous and haughty, but under that thick fur coat is a softie-literally, too. Constantly worries over Suzy, especially when she plays pranks.

Richie and Louie: A pair of haunted tap dance shoes. Richie the right, and Louie the left. When living, they were twin brothers who were famous tap dancers. Occasionally bicker but they rely on each other to get around-one shoe can only do so much

Lacey: The sweet centaur girl who is the hair dresser of the crew. She’s also the fastest and loves flower crowns. Is also dating the train conductor, Roxanne.

Lloyd: A magician who can move paper as he pleases. He can make impenetrable paper castles and is a card trick whiz. He’s also the tallest so he doubles as a tall man, too.

Kumi: She comes from a spider tribe, however she doesn’t clearly remember how she ended up on the circus crew-she lost a small portion of her memory. Is a master at trapeze and can shoot webbing from her toes and fingertips.

Group 2: Penny’s gang

Penny: A traveling mercenary doing odd jobs wherever she goes. Whether it’s fighting/befriending monsters or delivering freshly baked pies. Usually carefree but is secretive about her past...

Tassels: Penny’s sentient flying carpet. Is also secretive about their origins. Treats Penny like their flesh and blood, aka is the mom friend, and helps Penny stay on the right track.

Prince Elliott: A prince who hails from a kingdom where only royal blood can use magic, and only spells from a passed down spell book. He’s lived a sheltered life, but starts to learn the true science behind magic when he must flee his home with Penny, by the order of his parents...

Russel: As short as his temper but good with his hands, Russel is an electrical engineer in training. Is also gay for Elliott. Nickname: Russel sprout.

Quinn: Russel’s bazooka weilding cousin. She’s mute so she communicates in sign language. Is also mischievous and loves to play pranks with her boyfriend, Prince.

Prince Prince: (yes Prince is his first name, his mom thought it was funny) The prince from the radically different, neighboring kingdom of Elliott. He, Elliott, Russel, and Quinn played together when they were younger until Elliott’s parents cut in. Penny’s intervention is bringing them all back together however...

Group 3: Ada’s story

Ada: Excellent with numbers as well as words, Ada is a private math tutor for the princess of a kingdom far from the private academy where she’s spent most of her life. She isn’t as good with people as she is with math, however...

Spella: Widely known as the ‘queen of rats’ (because you never hear about a QUEEN of rats, no?) she protects the sewers where magic users hide from the ‘secret magic police’. She can use gravity magic, and is nearly invincible...yet she seeks out Ada’s help...and company.

Honora: A retired military general, she is the royal family’s elderly private tutor. She can’t get the concept of math into the princess’s mind, however, so seeks out Ada’s math skills. Comes off as cold and is on bad, BAD terms with Spella.

Princess Tiffany: The happy go lucky princess. She loves blue and has a pet chinchilla named Popcorn. Her pet helped break the ice with Ada and is now learning calculus under Ada’s effective teachings.

Darby: Spella’s childhood friend. She is serious and no-nonsense, often the only thing keeping Spella from blindly wrecking havoc. She’s a force to be reckoned with in a fight. Is also one of the few people who knows Spella keeps a secret collection of cheesy romance novels.

Group 4: steampunk androids

Amber: An android looking for her kidnapped parents. She is a ‘soft’ robot, so can pass easily as a human. While looking for clues, she works for the young and successful merchant, Sophie. She tries to be a pacifist, but working on a blimp targeted by pirates and thieves doesn’t leave her with much choice...

Trent: Another android running away from the lab that built and experimented on him. Didn't have much human interaction when he was first built so is usually cold and grumpy, but lightens up around Amber and children.

Sophie: Young and successful, she runs a young but prosperous trading company, delivering safe transportation of even the most expensive, fragile goods. A bit mischievous and loves cats. 

Group 5: science girls

Zoey: A freshman at a prestigious university. She loves tinkering with machines and computers. Also loves fantasy novels and comics.

-there are three other girls as well as their female teacher but they do not have names or fully developed backstories yet, unfortunately...
