Thinking about Gaon being so pestered about revealing things abt Yohan post canon that he starts to straight up lie. Mostly giving pointless information that doesn't help anyone, and at some point it's Yohan whispering them in his earpiece.

Interviewer: you've worked with kang yohan quite closely, could you tell us about him ?

Gaon: yes his shampoo is- I mean was, l'Oréal

Interviewer: no but I mean

Gaon: he thought men's beauty product marketting was stupid because most men's bodywash/shampoo fragrances are concepts and not real things like idk vanilla or green tea

Interviewer: but did he-

Gaon: on monday mornings he would open the door with his left hand instead of the right one

The Kang Mansion has a massive garden + it's near a body of water and a forest so I just know that in summer Kang Yohan is not only fighting his own demons, he's also fighting roaches and mosquitoes

Thought of a cute AU idea where Gaon has a cooking youtube channel pre-canon where he doesnt show his face but cooks whatever his subscribers ask for/makes on-request step by step tutorials for beginner homecooks and college students. Yohan subscribes to that channel while looking for recipes to make for Elijah after the church fire, trying to replicate dishes from her mother that she liked, hoping to get her to eat again. He anonymously comments and asks Gaon for tutorials on some of those recipes, and while little Elijah doesnt eat everything, the familiar taste comforts her, which Yohan appreciates enormously. He thanks Gaon, reports that the recipes are a success with his niece, and regularly suggests other foods Elijah loved. Gaon obliges and gladly films some more tutorials, keeping this person's niece in mind and wishing her good health.

Then, around the time Gaon gets into law school he becomes really busy and stops updating the channel regularly. Yohan sends kind messages but doesn't get a response bc Gaon has long since logged off and has even forgotten his password. Fast forward to canon, Yohan sees Gaon get really busy in his kitchen, and decides to watch him make one of Elijah's favourites (and maybe gives him one or two details about her preference). Then he notices how the proportions, the way Gaon goes about the different steps and secret ingredients are the same as that youtube channel he used to watch years ago. Yohan off-handedly asks him if he's seen the tutorials from that channel too. It's then that Gaon realises that those heartwarming comment from an uncle cooking for his little niece were from the very family he's inserted himself in

You guys think people in tdj universe treat Gaon, Jinjoo and Yohan like idols (gaon is already idol judge so). Like they trade photocards and stuff

see now that I think about it, tdj really missed the opportunity to have Yohan jokingly ask Gaon "are you my wife now, Kim Gaon ?" after seeing him get so busy in his kitchen on a regular basis

The scene where Gaon welcomes Sunah for dinner and she looks at him up and down, with his smile and soft cardigan and casual hairstyle and probably some slippers on, directing her to the kitchen. As the viewers we get used to this sight of Gaon in Yohan's house, but from anyone else's POV ? Just insane. Chief Judge and associate who are seemingly professional in their workplace and in public, are living in the same house, eating the same food, staying up late together in comfy clothes, setting up the table for dinner as a family.

Any 3rd party besides Elijah or Ms Ji would take one look at that situation and think yeah. Something very LGBT is going on

One of my favourite cinematography aspects of tdj is that it has multiple scenes of chaos mirroring each other (people scrambling in the church fire, the SRF gala in ep4, the school children fighting in the flashback of yohan's past, the final act in ep 16 before yohan explodes the courthouse). While ep 16 is very much Yohan's reproduction of that commotion in the middle of the fire, he...was not in the church yet when it happened. He's seen running towards it, he's pushed out of the way by heo jungse, cha gyeonhui etc but when he actually steps foot inside there's only isaac, heejin and elijah trapped by the debris and fire.

At first I thought ep 16 was simply Yohan putting the SRF and heo jungse + his wife in the same situation as 10 years ago for his vengeance, but now im realising he's actually recreating the terror felt by his family and making them experience it by feeling completely trapped and at his mercy...

I've got a crack fic wip in my google drive since like september (it's 90% done, I just need a scene to connect the middle to the ending). The idea is Gaon scrolling online forums and basically stumbling upon people's extremely thirsty comments about Yohan ("i need our national chief judge carnally" kind of comments). Then he finds explicit omegaverse fanfic of him and his boss. Reads through it all, half horrified and half intrigued. The next day he goes to work and has to face Yohan while pretending he did not read all that. Of course Jinjoo is aware because she has searched their names on the internet before (who wouldn't when theyre basically public figures), she just ignores it/giggles about it in front of a flabbergasted Gaon. I'm trying to think of how to include Sunah in that cuz duh. It's a crackfic abt kyh thirst tweets.
