I think Soren should've d/ed in the flashback
I saw Viren's nightmare on the previous season and legit thought he died
Cause this could cover the weird creepiness way people feel about Viren would explain why Lissa refused to give her tears [I'm still on Lissa's side. What Viren did was straight up an assault]
Cause with him using a spell to bring his son back to life this would make him crossing the line even better because he crossed the line of life and death not black magic because the recent litter already showing him using black magic before the healing spell
And Kpp'ar throwing away magic only for him to give Claudia his book was just annoying because in the puzzle house comic, you can tell that Viren didn't approve of her learning magic
Also, it was interesting that Viren's wall before the Harrow painting was a painting of Harrow's father, King Atticus
I thought it was going to be an empty wall or a painting similar to the one covering his secret tunnel
Day 13 of spinning this wheel and giving whatever tdp character it lands on a headcannon until there’s no more characters left!!!!!
Day 13 - Atticus
He’s a terrible cook but a really good pastry chef 🧑🍳
I Propose:
Kpp'Ar is Damian's father.
HEAR ME OUT.
Kpp'Ar falls in love with and has a child with a woman (we shall name her Token for the time being), and she passes in childbirth. Kpp'Ar is unable to provide for Damian without Token, and so he gives him - unaware of his illness - anonymously to a willing family.
Ten years later Damian and his adoptive parents visit the castle (Kpp'Ar is High Mage at this point) and beg for help to save him from a terminal lung disease called pulmonary edema. Kpp'Ar immediately knows it's his son and leaves the meeting, unable to keep himself composed. He breaks down and tells a worried King Atticus the truth. In this same year, Kpp'Ar apprentices a teenage Viren.
In a first subtle show of affection toward his son, Kpp'Ar has a medical alert dog bred and trained specifically for Damian's needs. Her name is Crisscross because she weaves through Damian's legs in a figure-eight to warn him of an attack.
For the first six years Kpp'Ar works to treat Damian, the sickly boy rejects any Dark Magic remedy for he believes it is a monstrosity and a mockery of life, and he turns that into a poem accidentally, earning himself a passion for it and later a career. Kpp'Ar insists to Atticus that Damian be allowed to stay within the Castle when he is old enough to leave his adoptive parents. Atticus agrees, and Damian graciously takes this offer when he turns nineteen.
So, I'm really curious of how King Atticus was as a King.
For people who didn't read the Comics (small spoiler), King Atticus is the father of ING Harrow.
In the comic "Puzzle House" he was portrait as a nice person, he even let Claudia sits on his throne because he saw her sad
But my question is, how was, politically speaking
Like, we know that there are places in Katolis where there is poverty, and my question is, the poverty was a consequence of the war (thing very possible), or it was because King Atticus didn't care much about the common people?
Like, he was king when Claudia, Soren, Callum and even Corvus were children.
But Callum, Soren and Claudia lived in the castle, so I think Corvus is the only one witch could tell if King Atticus was a good king or not.
I started reading puzzle house, and I noticed something. There seems to be an age mismatch... In S6, soren looks about 6 ish. Claudia about 4... in the flashback that Lissa leaves. Which is preceded by kppar's disappearance. Soren is shown that young when Viren saved him. (Image credits : @raayllum and @stuck-in-jelly ) look how young soren is! And claudia is teeny weeny!
BUT IN PUZZLE HOUSE.... there's a scene between King Atticus (What a lovely man) and Viren.... he asks Viren how he is doing out of genuine concern!
(Pardon the picture quality my camera is not so great)
THE FOLOW UP OF THE SAME INCIDENT THAT IS IN VIREN'S FLASHBACKS!!!! BUT SOREN LOOKS ABOUT 10ISH AND CLAUDIA ABOUT 8ISH!
Now it is very much possible that the puzzle house happens very much later. Like after a time skip.
Also to note: claudia was given kppar's spellbook. Tge kids had been to his house multiple times atleast to mention "he never let us enter his tower". Also Atticus asks the question as if it all happened fairly recently. Means tge flashback of s6 happened pretty close to the time of puzzle house no? But soren and claudia look older to me...
Wouldn't it make more sense if soren and claudia were a little older than how they are shown in s6 flashbacks to have known kppar! If soren is saved at an older age it would still work.
I don't know if it was a mismatch between the two departments handling the production of the season and the graphic novel. But their ages don't line up... like if all of those flashbacks of s6 happened with a little older claudia and soren, they would remember that incident much more strongly, and that is fitting for character!
I see three possibilities...
A) This is truly a mistake and there was a mismatch between the teams that made the season and the novel.
B) This is deliberate! They showed the flashbacks through Viren's POV. And maybe its the "to parents their children are always young" or this is just how he is seeing them in the memory of that incident now. Memories become distorted over time... we don't remember details and when we recall, we fill their place with details of how we felt that incident to be like, which is sometimes not what it actually was.... Viren's guilt makes him look at himself like the terrible man who hurt his two innocent children. And what better way to make a child look innocent than to literally age them down! Look at this image of claudia from one of the short stories... here she looks about her puzzle house age, seeing Lissa leave.
So it is true that the puzzle house ages are reality and the flashback ages are Viren's projections of his children as how innocent they were when he hurt their family. I AM ONTO SOMETHING HERE, I REALLY WANT THIS TO BE TRUE!
C) I could be wrong at judging character ages too (in that case it would be a bummer cuz what sort of animation student am I then?)
But what do you guys think? I am leaning towards the ages being shown that way is deliberate...
Ez looks awfully a lot like his grandpa!
On further puzzle house reflection, and some spoilers below...
Dark King Atticus isn't completely beyond the bounds of reality?? I mean this guy is perfectly fine with a five year old practising dark magic... he's not tearing Viren out for letting her try, he's just pls dude, keep the carnage to your own rooms now...
Also seems pretty interested in Kpp'Ar's possibly powerful magical contraption..
Can I wrangle my brain into thinking he's an iron fist in a velvet glove?
