TEAs - For Your Consideration

It’s that time again, time for another TEA consideration post.   While I’ll likely  make a recommendation list later after I’ve had chance to go through my backlog of fic squealing (and double-checking what people want nominated),  this list just features my own work.   Also @ifishouldvanish has started an incredible site to help you with nominations, so also go check that out.

Where the Sea Takes You for Best May Day Menagerie (and Best One-shot if you’re feeling particularly generous)

If you choose to only nominate me for one thing, please let this be it.   I’m so proud of this story for combining show mythology with a less common sea creature.    

Belle refuses to give up hope that Rumplestiltskin is out there somewhere. He just can't be dead. After Belle reads about a creature created through their connection to the darkest of magic and forced into serving penance for their misdeeds, she goes to the island in hopes of finding her true love.

Knight in Shining Armor for Best Reunion 

Mr. Gold followed Madame Mayor to the hospital hoping for some blackmail material. He found something much more important instead.  

Finding Home for Best Creature AU and/or Best Spinner Rum

It seemed no matter what form she was in, Belle was unable to stop herself from being the hero and helping someone in need. But this rescue gives her much more than she bargained for.

Also features my favorite first kiss dialogue:  

“My friend Ariel says a kiss can fix anything. I don’t think I believe her. But it seems like you need a lot of fixing right now.”  

Rumplestiltskin couldn’t think of why someone would want to kiss him. Milah hadn’t in ages, unless she was using it to get what she wanted.   So why was Belle offering? Why did it seem like this beautiful woman cared about him?

“May I?” She sounded as timid as he felt. She started to pull her hands away at the lack of response, thinking her advance wasn’t welcome.

He groaned, leaning into it more, not realizing how starved for human touch that didn’t come from Bae until this moment.   “Please.” The word couldn’t have been more than a whisper, but somehow she heard it.

Her lips pressed against his and it felt like lightning or a sunset or… Rumplestiltskin’s mind trailed off, unable to think as long as her lips were on his. She was sunshine and the warm ocean breeze and perfect that was really the only word to describe the sensation, perfect.   The kiss was over all too soon. He felt himself following her as she pulled away.

“I don’t think Ariel knew what she was talking about.”

Rumplestiltskin let out a laugh, even though earlier that night he’d thought he wouldn’t be laughing any time soon. “That’s a lie. I’m almost fixed.”

“Only almost?” Belle seemed to catch the teasing lilt to his voice.

“Of course. I need another, as many as you can give me.”

An Unusual Case is not eligible for TEA 2018.

TEAs - For Your Consideration

I personally found these posts by other creators to be a life-saver last year when it came to making nominations, so here’s mine.  These are obviously just suggestions and if you wanted to nominate any of my fics in any of the categories I’d be honoured.

Empty Corridors - For Best AU or Best Anyelle or Best Golden Lace

This has been my most popular fic this year, by a country mile, and it’s been so nice to see Lacey get so much love from the fandom.  Lacey has a crappy waitressing gig at Granny’s and a crappier father, but her life changes for the better when Mr Gold offers her a job.  Includes smut, cute kittens and these two being utter morons.

Sacrifice - for Best Rumbelle Fic or Best AU!OUAT 

Set during the Black Fairy’s curse (or a different version of the curse I made up before those episodes aired).  Gideon has been de-aged to a baby and Belle doesn’t know Gold’s his father.  Desperation leads her to make a smutty deal with him to save them from eviction, which leads to the curse breaking for her.  She must join forces with Henry to try to wake her husband and the other townsfolk.  Includes lots of smut, Belle facing off with the Black Fairy and a side of Swan Queen. 

Waiting Game (and its follow-up ficlets) - for Best Angst: Oops! or Best Lacey 

Did my usual of writing a smutty one-shot and then making it into an angsty fic with a happy ending.  Lacey is Neal’s college buddy, and has a one-night stand with Gold.  She ends up pregnant, thinking Gold doesn’t care about her, and Swanfire have to come to the rescue.  Includes lots of smut, lots of yelling and a confident season 1-type Gold who meets his match in Lacey.

Drinking to Forget - for Best Series or Best Anyem or Best Detective Weaver.

I love Woven Lace so much...  Anyway, this is an alternative season 7 with no Hook and with Lacey meeting Weaver in Roni’s bar.  Includes a LOT of smut, the wonderful Alice and Weaver’s eager young partner Detective French (aka Gideon).

Outsider - for Best AU or Best Drama

This was a verse made up of chapters from one line prompts and I LOVED writing it.  Belle has been on the run from her crime-lord father for some time, carrying important evidence against him.  When she reaches Storybrooke she meets the enigmatic Mr Gold, who has a violent past of his own, but who wants to protect her.  A dark season 1-type Gold and Jefferson and Cruella providing some light relief.  Oh, and smut.

Midwinter’s Kiss - for Best Holiday Fic or Best Dark One

A collection of ficlets that I put into one fic.  Belle has been looking forward to the Midwinter celebrations at the Dark Castle, but when Rumple decides to take her with him when he makes a deal, she gets to show him exactly how she feels.  Includes sleigh rides, dancing, and smut.

Peaches and Longing - for Best Threesome

Set in the Extracurricular series.  Belle, Gold and Rush go on a summer road trip.  Includes the usual Gold/Rush snark, threesome sex with peach products and bonus Jefferson.

Number 9 - for Best Smut: PWP or Best Post-Ep fic

Set after the end of season 6.  Belle asks Rumple for a potion so she can keep up with the Dark D in the bedroom.  Includes - well, smut, basically.

Wolf’s Time - for Best Rumbelle Revelry or Best Spinner!Rumple

Rumplestiltskin lives a simple life with his son Baelfire on their farm.  As Samhain draws close, they help a distraught young woman, chained up and left for the wolves.  Some years later, Bae is in the grip of a deadly disease, and Rumplestiltskin’s only hope lies with the Blind Witch.  Includes Spinner Rumple being as sweet as can be and Wolf!Red, 

And I guess if you were so inclined, it would be an honour to be nominated for Best Author :)

Gold in the Afternoon |  TEA Categories: Romance - Best First Meeting, Smut - Kink (maybe?) Mr. Gold thinks little of the pretty new tenant who’s opened a pretty little lingerie shop - until she suggests that he try on her wares.

The Haunted Man |  TEA Categories: Best Rumbelle Revelry, Best Supernatural When her father tries to arrange a marriage for her, Belle decides to take fate into her own hands - but seeking the help of Mr. Gold is its own winding, mysterious path. Gothic Romance Rumbelle AU.

Buttoned Up |  TEA Category: Smut - Romance, Best Belle, Best Mr. Gold Though her name suggests otherwise, Belle has never felt beautiful. She’s more comfortable hiding herself inside mountains of sweaters and ankle-skimming skirts. But when Mr. Gold catches her in an intimate act, he decides to release Belle from her many layers.

Kiss |  TEA Categories: Best One-Shot, Best Dark One Belle has known these woods all her life, and roses have never grown in the middle of the path - neither have strange men appeared when you pluck their petals.
