Tea Lyfe is a small cafe located in the Little Saigon district in San Jose. The cafe separates itself from other boba shops with its clever layout, cute mascot and Instagram-worthy branding. The drinks look better than they taste as their menu is pretty limited. Buy a drink, grab a tree trunk and catch up with your friends.

I haven’t posted much for The Boba Files lately, so I wanted to make it up with a new post on Tea Lyfe in Vietnam Town.

Tea Lyfe – Strawberry Horchata with Boba

(Location: San Jose, CA)

San Jose went on a boba explosion this year with a new boba place popping up almost weekly (that’s an exaggeration). Tea Lyfe is one of the shops that stood out from the crowd, and their concept is very similar to that of Boba Guys in SF. The Horchata Boba is their signature drink, and it wasn’t actually as great as I’d hoped it would be. The horchata doesn’t carry as strong of a flavor as other places that do the horchata boba, and was a bit watered down. However, the boba is cooked very well, and overall, the drink doesn’t disappoint.
