LOL.
Makes me feel better that you don't think it's okay either. It's hard though because I just moved into this dorm, I only know one other person than her on campus.... grrr kgysguy*(&^*^835
Yasmeen I'm so curious, and please don't take offense; how on EARTH do you afford all of these incredibly generous giveaways? I can't even fathom it, you just keep giving and giving and I can't understand how someone can be so selfless to complete strangers??
I'm not offended I actually get this question a lot so I guess I should clarify. It's pretty simple really. It started when I was a kid really. My parents taught me to start tithing (for those of you who are unfamiliar, it's a Christian concept teaching that 10% of your income goes to the church) ever since I started getting a regular allowance. So I was pretty used to it even when I wasn't going to church or necessarily believing in it. I still appreciated the concept of giving selflessly. What goes around comes around ya know. Then one day I decided that since the money was supposedly going to people who really needed it, why can I not just start giving it to some people that I knew who really needed it like why did it have to be through the church. And even though my family doesn't believe it's 'biblical' I kept doing it for almost 2 years. Just saving my tithings and then giving it to somebody I knew needed it when it was a big enough amount. Then I moved here to the U.S. and for a while I was spending all my money on alcohol and crap that was destroying me instead of building me and when I wanted to change my life that was one of the first things I started doing again. Then I moved to this area where really I am not close to anyone here like most of my closes friends live hours away from me and tbh most of them work. So tumblr is just the solution I found for now. I started working a really good job last year and I have some giving away money saved up so giveaways! Make sense? I hope it makes sense.

Marina's 11 Questions:
1. What made you decide to start your healthy lifestyle? In the very beginning I was really just tired of always having an upset stomach from an unhealthy diet. I integrated exercise into the equation when I realized I wanted to be the best possible version of myself.
2. What is your favorite animal? This is hard to choose! I like all animals. Since I have to pick, I choose cats.
3. What are your plans for the future? That's really up in the air at this point. Recently I've become more interested in pursuing psychological research. I want to be better friend, sister, partner, daughter and person overall. Happiness is my only concrete plan for the future.
4. Who is your favorite celebrity? There are a lot of famous people who I admire. I would have to say my favorite celebrity is Mila Kunis. She is hilarious, beautiful, has such a care-free attitude despite being in the public eye, and seems like such a genuine person.
5. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Northern California or Australia.
6. What is your favorite TV show? My favorite TV show is always the one that I am watching at the moment, so for now it is Parks and Recreation. I haven't been watching the new season of American Horror Story but I really love the first two seasons and the cast. Also really excited to watch the new season of the Following :>
7. Do you have any fitness/health role models? I have plenty! There are a lot of people I follow on tumblr that inspire me all the time :> Also, Miranda Kerr is someone who has a great view on health that I admire and try to mirror.
8. What is your favorite thing to do? Making memories with people :>
9. What is your favorite method of working out? Yoga, running, etc.? Running and Pilates! I want to get better at yoga and also have slowly been getting back into weight lifting which I enjoy.
10. How long have you been living a healthy lifestyle? To be perfectly honest, no more than 6 months. Before then I was too strict with myself and didn't enjoy myself enough.
11. What was the hardest part about making this change? Realizing that I need soul food just as much as I need nutritious food. Questions for you! 1) Since I'm posting this during the weekend, have you had a good week? If not, what could you have changed to make it better? 2) You know the saying, "You are what you eat". If you were food, what would you be? 3) What was your favorite movie as a child? 4) Describe your perfect outfit. 5) If you could meet anyone, who would it be? 6) What is a motto that you live by? 7) Coffee or tea? 8) What is your favorite season? 9) What is something that makes you feel nostalgic? 10) Which is better: Day-dreaming or actual dreaming? 11) What is something you want to achieve this year?

Exactly, it got to the point where I unfollowed all of the blogs that posted it-- this was even before I knew what a trigger was!! I am completely in support of your no-spo, because I only follow healthy blogs without it subconciously! 10/10! <3
10/10. Much quality. Very support. Such good. Wow. :) (i'm so sorry i just. it's late)

I definitely used to use those photos as "oh my god I must be them" and I thought that was healthy to motivate me, but all it did was bring forward disordered thinking. I didn't realize that I was avoiding bodyspo on my blog until your post!
I didn't even know other people avoided it really until I started being really impacted by it and made some "urg I'm so frustrated!!!" posts... Realized that a LOT of people actually avoid it and wished they could find more blogs without a lot of bodyspo on it, which is what inspired the post (actually I wanted to do the post primarily for the promo- so that people understood what it was that I was trying to avoid). I'm all fine with people who want to post bodies, but I get concerned when people post only one type of body for motivation to look like that because to me, it was always unhealthy, and it probably always will be.
