Fellow autistics/educators!

Hi I'm an autistic physical educator and when I'm watching my peers teach partner skills like passing, throwing, catching, they say to make eye contact to be sure you don't hit your partner and they're ready to receive the ball.

I, and many other autistics, don't partake in eye contact because it is uncomfortable. As a kid when I played sports my accommodation was that my teammates would yell my name or their own name to indicate they were open and ready.

I'm curious if anyone has any other solutions/accommodations I could share with my classmates and colleagues to prevent hitting people with balls. Reblog and let me know!!

It’s that time of year when people begin preparing to go back to school, and I feel guilty and strangely sad because even though I have a teaching degree I am not going back to school.

i love whenmy students say im serious (which i am not, iis just my face :v) and harsh (which i am not, its just my voice and i dont sugar the teaching :v), but fair (which i am definitely not, im always giving them more time to do things that i should :v) akmskansna it allows me to threaten then better with their homework :v

the whole semester till i only got 1 late homework and the student came to me very shy to ask if i could receive aknskwnsnnsnsmsmsma

Again, I'm a teacher. And I was watching random videos earlier then I came upon a video of a teacher inside an empty classroom saying I love you and class dismissed one last time. My heart bled for a moment. I just miss my students old and new ones. Did they miss me too?

I’m so annoyed because my school STILL won’t let us in to our classrooms. Do you know how full my living room is with stuff?? If I don’t get started like, yesterday, I’m not gonna have my room ready in time 😭😭
