I'm TEACHING tomorrow!!! *think confident teacher thoughts*
When I was a young dancer, I had the opportunity during my training to learn quite a few classical variations. I remember having such a sense of respect and admiration for these timeless pieces of choreography and felt very fortunate to have learned them. Recently, I have began teaching again and my inner-ballerina, passion for teaching and love for ballet has prompted me to want to implement a variations class for my students, so that they might have the same fortunate experience that I had once upon a time (or "dream", if we're talking about Sleeping Beauty)! This video features the lovely Marianela Nunez from The Royal Ballet performing the Lilac Fairy variation. While the choreography is different from what I had learned and will be teaching, it is quite a pleasure to watch nonetheless.
