Playdough Igloos - Reception

Let it be said, that I persevered through my Art lesson despite that:

the blue playdough looked green

the white playdough turned pink with the purple glitter in it

the smell of the oven cooked playdough (the green stuff) ended up making the entire classroom smell like burnt toast

The children seemed to really enjoy themselves and made some excellent igloos (with only a little bit of help from the adults)! They especially loved that it was magic snow and that I had a magic wand to prove it :)

Reception Dinosaur Drawings

Now I'd be one of the first people to say I hated step-by-step guides on how to draw a specific thing...I'm more an observe-and-improve-and-find-your-own-style kinda gal, but when teaching a class of 4 year olds how to draw a cartoon Triceratops? Now you're talking!

Especially when you break the drawing guide down even further when you're teaching the class and take it step by literal step.

You could already see the talent in some of them and I just couldn't help but grin :)

Prepping for Reception Art

Soooo I have a 2 week observational placement coming up next week in a different school and, after talking with my point of contact there, I've put myself forward to teaching an awesome art lesson for 4-5 year olds based on motor skills...fine and large! 

I have a few ideas already, things to do with maybe clay modelling or chalk drawing outside...but I need some more concrete ideas when I meet up with my point of contact next week on Wednesday! Eeeee already so excited!
