In light of the tragedy in Orlando, I’d just like to remind everyone that arguing, hate and violence will never solve anything. #WeAreTheWorld We have the power to make a difference. We have the power to enact change. In the world, in each other, and in ourselves. #teachtolerance #chooselove
Lessons learned.
It is 2014 we have got to stop teaching our children that "you're acting like a girl" is an insult.
Why?
Karl Marx once said that "Religion is the opiate of the masses"
And though I am not an atheist I do see the plain truth of the statement.
Man created religion so that they may have some way that they and their children could create hope or belief that this world is not the only one and that when you die you don't just cease to exist, rather you move on, in most religions, to a better and happier place.
Everyone across the globe believes in something. There are Atheists who believe that nothing happens after you die, which is still a belief. Buddhists believe in reincarnation and then unto Nirvana. The Abrahamic Religions believe in Heaven and Hell. And then there are some who just believe that there is something. They don't believe that religion is the answer. Rather they have faith and assurance, which though talked much about in sacred texts, doesn't hit home for them in the way those books express.
Religion is used to pacify the believing masses, though now it seems to stir up more shit than need be. People don't believe the same thing as their neighbor, because absolutely no one on Earth believes the same exact thing as the person sitting next to them in the pew. Or praying on their rug beside them. Even Atheists don't all believe the same thing. No human brains have the capacity to think exactly the same as another, or react exactly the same in a series of situations. So we band together into groups we call "religions" who have more or less similar views on theology, and we persecute other groups for being different. Christian extremists are just as harsh as the Muslim kind. And those who appeal for religion have just as sharp tongues as the ones who don't.
So if no one believes the exact same thing, then aren't we all on even ground? Aren't we all just as clueless as to what happens to us Afterwards as anyone? So why don't we let everyone have their opinion, their religion, whether we think them flawed or not? Why the Hell can't we get along in the world? You'd think living in the century that we do, with knowledge at a max, we could set aside our differences and just live together without the day to day struggle of who's beliefs are right because it is absolutely ridiculous to impose your beliefs on someone who has their own. They have theirs and you have yours, no matter where that takes you it matters not to me, but to the world it may. Just for once could people put aside religious intolerance to see that a person's Moral Doctrine, not their Religious, is the way you can base your opinion of someone off of?
