Can you do any 10 questions (of your choosing) for Teagan?

Welp... I tried but I couldn’t decide sooooo - I did 11 instead :p Thanks for asking!! Sorry it took a while 🧡

1) Something this character is truly proud of.

I’m proud of pretty much everything that I do honestly. I work my ass off. I’m most proud of my online mag & how my photography has improved. I’ve been working on it a lot so it’s very fulfilling to see.

4) What they would do if they had one month to live. 

Jeez, I’d do fucking everything I could! I’d sky dive, dance my ass off all night, swim with dolphins. I’d visit places I’ve always wanted to see & take sooo many pictures & stories to leave behind for anyone who cared to see.

8) What kind of car they would drive. 

Drive? Why drive when I can walk. Having a car seems pointless when I have perfectly good legs & like to take in everything around me. And if it’s too far, that’s what Uber is for.

9) What calms them when they are upset. 

Quiet time. Lots & lots of quiet time to breath & reflect. I have to find the positives, figure out what I’ve learned from the experience, & that’s the only way to do it.

12) How they sleep.

I’m told I’m like a cat *laughs* I mostly sleep in small bursts. People wonder how I function on such little sleep but I do it! I just rely on naps & when I do sleep, it’s deep.

16) Their sexuality

I don’t believe in checking a damn box, especially when it comes to things like this. Sexuality is such a beautiful & fluid thing. Why define it in such black & white terms? It seems so suffocating.

17) What they’d sing at karaoke

Anything from the 80s! I wish I’d been alive back then. Hair bands will never go out of style in my eyes.

19) When they feel safest

When I’m behind the lens. It’s not about my problems or even thinking about shit that’s bogging me down. It’s about seeing, truly taking in, the beauty & uniqueness around you. The camera does the rest.

20) Household chore they hate the most

Fuck, I hate laundry. I hate sorting it & folding it & hanging the shit up. It’s all so.... bleh!

22) How they spend their money. 

Usually getting into shows for unknown artists in dive bars or going to museums or art shows or whatever. I also like to experience new restaurants & give to small, local businesses. It’s more about the experiences & the stories. Who needs more clothes or... or things? You can’t take that shit with you & if you leave it behind, nobody wants it. Leave behind a story. It’s way more important.

23) What kind of alcohol they drink

I’ll drink anything but I love myself some vodka most of all. It can make so many different kinds of mixed drinks, can be taken in a shot, mixed with different things, taste great with fruit. It’s a multitasking bitch, just like me!

“It wasn't my idea.”

Getting a roommate wasn’t Willow’s idea, but she needed a place to stay that was cheap. Well, as cheap as living in the city could be. So, she found a listing online and was checking it out. The place was small, clearly meant for only a single occupant to reside in- but the rent was manageable and she was used to having no space. “You’re Willow, right? Teagan, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” Teagan outstretched her hand before taking a seat on the couch and motioning for the nervous girl to join her. 

“Oh, no thanks. I’m good standing,” Willow assured the bold woman in front of her. Teagan looked comfortable. No, it was more than that. She was rocking a confidence that was fairly new to Willow. Someone like that, she wasn’t sure, would make the best roommate. Maybe there’d be too many demands, too many questions. 

“Alright, suit yourself. Anyway, tell me about yourself. Why are you looking for a place to stay?” Teagan asked. 

“I need a warm place to stay at night and an address that I can get my checks mailed to,” Willow answered honestly. “There isn’t much more to it than that.”

“Where do you work? Can you afford the rent?” 

These were all basic questions Willow had answered a million times before. Nothing changed, except the look of disappointment on the faces of people who couldn’t get more than Willow’s usual mundane and vague answers. “I’m a grocery store clerk. Minimum wage, but it’s enough. I don’t eat that much and I keep to myself. Plus, I’ll do any of the chores you need me to.” “Well alright,” Teagan said, standing up and extending her hand towards Willow. “You can move in whenever.” “What?” Willow asked, pulling on her earlobes as if she hadn’t heard a thing. “No more questions?” “Nope, nothing. We’re good.” And yet, Willow wasn’t so convinced of those words. How could this girl be offering her a place to stay- a nice place to stay- for dirt cheap out of the kindness of her heart? There had to have been something more than that, right?

November 1, 2016.

I remember Teagan catching me off guard. She was different than anyone I had ever seen before. I think that’s why I always felt so compelled to watch her. She walked with such purpose, as if she knew exactly what she was doing. 

That day, Teagan was listing things off. She hadn’t realized I was also near the bridge and could hear all of her daily tasks for her website. She was so focused and determined. 

I remember watching her and wanting to talk to her. But, I didn’t think I belonged to the same world she did. Teagan looked like the kind of person who created the world they wanted to live in, while I stayed and lived in the default world that was given to me.
