On Christmas afternoon, Nerner, the namesake of this channel crossed the Rainbow Bridge at the age of 18. She passed peacefully in her sleep, while spending time with her chosen family. It was like she knew it was her time and she came out to be with us so she could feel comfortable as she passed.
She was my best friend and constant companion. She saw us through pregnancy, early parenthood, and more moves than I care to count.
We are heartbroken, but also grateful that of all the people in the world, she chose us. She was our soul cat and no other cat will ever match up.
“Do you think I should?” Royce asked when Natalia joined him.
“Yes,” she smiled at him. “You’ve been telling me for years how you’d run the spa if it were yours.”
“I know but this is different,” sighing he continued “it’s a big step from managing it to owning it.”
“You can do it,” she assured him.
“Are you saying I should dip into our savings and buy the spa…”
“If that’s what you want,” she said.
“I do but it’s not just up to me. There are other things to consider.” He took her hand “what if it fails? It would take us years to recover and what about the kids?”
“And our eventual retirement,” she chuckled a little, shaking her head at him.
“I’m being serious,” he grumbled, turning away.
“I know but there’s no guarantee in anything. The best we can do is hope for the best.” Taking his hand “I think you can do this. I’ll support you no matter what you decide. I will say this though, you’ll regret it if you don’t do it.”
Nodding slowly “you’re right as usual.”
“I usually am,” she smiled, leaning into him to give him a kiss.

Aw, poor kiddos. However, I do think it's nice that they have Violet there as someone else to shower love on them. I hope Roy can recognize that as a good thing.
I think he knows it in his head...but of course as we all know the head and the heart are 2 very different beasts. His desire to do what’s best for his children will always win over his ego, thankfully.

Violet is a person who is 100% committed, once she makes her mind up about something. She is also very stable and pragmatic. I think she will be a very positive role model for the children.

The reason Roy is not bringing up Saoirse is because he’s being considerate and understanding of his kids’ feelings. They have a lot of pretty overwhelming stuff to process right now. He will bring up Saoirse when the time is right, but now is not that time.

When I played DBH, Connor’s story was my favorite, and I was surprised how invested I became with his path to self-discovery. I wondered how he would handle falling in love, what that would mean, and that led me to want to write a romance with him. So in my head I started thinking about how he would meet someone after the events of the main game, and Sophie was born from there!
I wanted her to be involved in the arts because I wanted Connor to discover what it was like to be human through the arts, and the week I began drafting, I happened to go to the theatre. I decided to make her an actress because I was an actress at one point, and I wanted that part of me to live on, but also because I found it thematically appropriate for someone who was learning how to interpret emotions fall for someone who did that for other people. I wanted her to be an ethnic miniroty, who had a hard time wondering if she belonged to one group or the other, because Connor is an android that spends a lot of time with humans....not feeling like he really “belongs” with either group. I made her Polynesian like me, because why not? I thought. Plus....no research I had to do, lol. (I like research, I really do. I just wanted to get writing.)
In hindsight it was a great decision because a hibiscus motif became her thing :)
I like how kind of out there she became, quirky, total nerd. that’s how I develop people...just through writing. maybe I have a vague idea about them before (like their look is important, I needed to get her formed in my mind, which I did pretty quickly.) But yeah, that’s how she evolved!
