After returning from the dead, Teaghuee's soul returned with only the demon's magic to keep it tied down to Tryia, which wasn't a healthy option. It ate away at him as he slowly faded in colour and personality until Aurene's ascension, from there, they survived through her magic. Their life essence was her magic. Just as the demon changed them, so did Aurene's magic, leading to their growth and pupils changing. Her magic bled into their mesmer magic as they grew used to the boost in strength it gave them. It lets them reach deeper into mesmer magic, pulling off powerful feats even masters of the class wouldn't normally be able to.

Post-champion mode in EoD brought the biggest changes with curled horns and crystalline claws. Until now, it'd been thought that the changes they faced were simply due to being a dragon's champion, but Aurene knew. She felt them shift and change. Growing to fit the magic they held. A mortal shouldn't have a dragon's magic, so that's what they'd become. A dragon.

In the story, they have still yet reached the full dragon form, but it grows near and it terrifies them. What gives them peace of mind about becoming a dragon is the fact that it's Aurene's magic that starts this. And she'll be there to keep them in check; however, Tryia has suffered so much at the hands of Dragons. They understand why they'd be mad at their beloved commander for becoming exactly what they swore to defend them from; that's why they've kept it a secret. They struggle with who they are and who The Commander is. They've gotten lost in this version of themselves to be liked and sought out when help is needed.

And there's always the worry of the power going to their head as they match even Tryia's strongest in power; however, their dearhearts Miren and Trahearne keep them in check. Dragon's Watch is always happy to bring down their ego.
