The shower she took helped relief the sore muscles of her body - she had been engaging in much more field work lately than she would’ve liked to. The weather was cold, so when she entered her room, drying her hair with a towel, she decided it was for the best if she blow dries her hair right away to avoid catching a cold.
Doing just that, her arm muscles screamed with the effort to lift her arm above her head. Exhaustion soon took over, and she went straight to bed, wrapping herself in her blankets. Whatever tasks she had left to do, she was sure she could do them when she wakes up.
She could never fall asleep right away, so she worked on calming her body and thoughts as she kept her lids closed in the comforting silence. A couple minutes passed before a swift wind blew her curtains aside and a chuckle resonated in the room.
“Look at you.” The voice stated, and the bed dipped under a new weight. “During daytime you’re a deadly badass but at night you’re a tiny bundle of messy hair.” She wanted to roll her eyes, but instead a smile grew on her lips as she turned around towards the voice and opened her eyes to look at him. A normal person wouldn’t be able to see her eyes were open in such darkness, but she knew he could. “Oh, you’re awake?” His voice sounded surprised, and she imagined his face must be mirroring it.
“I only got in bed a few minutes ago.” She explained groggily.
“Got any space for me?” He asked flirtatiously, and she sighed and scooted over so he could take his spot on the left side of the bed. As soon as her head was on his chest, he wrapped his hands around her tightly. “How does it feel to cuddle with your mortal enemy?” He mocked, and could easily hear her snort in return.
“I do wish you were warmer but I guess it’s pretty okay.” She replied with sass, trying to glue herself even closer to the man. He firmly gripped the thigh she raised over his hip and caressed it. “If you wanted warmer cuddles you should have become a werewolf hunter. Or a demon hunter.” She giggled sleepily, a joke crossing her mind.
“You or a demon… same thing.” She voiced out her joke, and the man’s chest shook with laughter.
“I may not come from Hell but I assure you I can set your body on fire.” She hummed, sleep starting to take over her mind.
“I’ll hold you to that promise.” She mumbled, and then slowly her breathing began to even out. The man placed a kiss on her hair and placed his hand over the one she had on his chest. He began to think back of the moment he met her for the first time, months ago. He was enjoying his evening at the coven’s main bar, hanging out with the boys when word began to spread that a female hunter was on the premises, and that she was bringing some sort of letter. He chuckled darkly, thinking he’d never thought he’d see the day a human entered that place with a business proposition. He gathered the boys and reassured that they will handle this person, and she should advance to the bar unharmed.
She was shrugging off the smirks and comments she was receiving as she made her way through the crowd of vampires. True to the rumor, she was clutching some sort of document in her hand.
“And what do we have here?” He remembered himself saying, a smirk playing on his face as well. His 4 brothers encircled the female, making sure she wouldn’t be able to escape.
“I’m just gonna cut to the point. Three newborns that have been identified under your coven have been causing a lot of casualties in the city and they’re threatening the safety of both the population and the secret of your identity.” She explained, not even a stutter present in her words even if she was surrounded by predators in every direction.
“You came all this way to tell us to handle our people better?” Taehyun asked, giving up on trying to intimidate the female and sitting on a high chair at the bar. He ordered himself a drink before turning his attention back to the discussion.
“No, I came here to request you to do that. We know how difficult newborns can be and so we don’t want unnecessary killings on both ends. We have a peace agreement, remember?”
“Peace agreement my ass.” Beomgyu commented, snarling at the female. Soobin pulled him back and took the letter gently out of the female’s hand.
“I’ll take this to our leaders. Thank you for notifying us, ma'am. Yeonjun, can you escort her out safely?”
“Sure thing.” He responded and wrapped a protective arm around the girl’s shoulder. She didn’t seem happy with it, but didn’t comment as she saw how the vampires in the bar made space for them all the way to the exit. She could feel the power he held, Yeonjun thought.
Once they reached the outside of the club, they were met with the wet and dark back alley that was so familiar to Yeonjun. He stared her up and down multiple times, from her well fitting hair style to her equipment belt all the way to her combat boots. She looked positively ravishing, and he could only imagine what type of fight she would put up.
“Can I help you with something?” She asked, bringing Yeonjun out of thought.
“A name would be nice. Preferably yours.” She rolled her eyes at his flirting, but gave him her name anyway. “I’m Yeonjun.” He introduced himself as well, offering her a hand to shake. “But you could call me your boyfriend.” After such a pick up line, she stared at him blankly and didn’t even consider shaking his hand.
“I’ve never met a corny vampire before.”
“And I’ve never met such a sexy hunter before.” He replied smartly, taking a step closer to her.
“Oh shut up.” She retorted, taking a step back every time Yeonjun was pushing closer. Soon he was holding her against the wall of a building.
“If you kiss me, I’d have no choice but to shut up.” Yeonjun knew just how cringey he was acting, but he enjoyed the game they were playing too much to stop. He stared deep into her eyes, making sure to flash crimson irises at her. He was waiting for her to cower away, push him away… but instead he felt a hand sneak to the back of his neck and he was left breathless when her lips smashed into his. He gripped her hips roughly and pushed his body into hers, reciprocating the passion she was offering him.
“You really aren’t scared of me?” He asked, chest heaving up and down.
“No.” She breathed out. “You?”
“Am I scared of you?” Yeonjun asked sarcastically, moving down to kiss her neck.
“You should be.” With a harsh pull to his hair, she brought his attention back to her face.
“I’m afraid I might fall for you.” He purred, getting drunk on the perfume of her skin.
He simply could not resist her, Yeonjun thought. He’s usually the one to seduce others, but this time he was the one who got seduced, by her courage, her attitude, her scent. He laughed drily to himself as he drifted off to sleep, still holding her in a protective grip.
