Mai
Teal coat
E11 - 1986 - Emperor Pilaf Saga
The gas mask Mai and Shu wear bear a resemblance to Akira Toriyama’s “self-insert”, Tori-bot, which Toriyama has maintained since Dr. Slump.
Fitting, as Mai makes a fourth-wall breaking reference to Dr Slump in the manga. (this was cut from the anime)
Mai
Teal coat
I can’t very easily tag this with what episode this one came from, because they came from a few. There’s a lot of anime-only filler that the Pilaf gang make appearances in. Mai is one of my favourite characters and designs from DB so I already had a bunch of screenshots lying around anyway.
The DB wiki labels her outfit as a trenchcoat but I’d argue it’s more of a greatcoat. Although, that’s kind of splitting hairs. The third screenshot has her without gloves but I feel like it was more of a colouring error than her not wearing them.
If there was anything the anime adaption of DB got right, it’s her makeup. It really helps fuel the Soviet secret spy thing she has going on.

BLUE COAT
There is nothing wrong with a little pop of colour in fall, right? It adds a bit of sunshine and happiness to what could otherwise be a gloomy and cloudy day.
There are so many different shades of blue that there is definetly a shade to your taste, from a pale baby blue to a darker teal, without omitting that bright cobalt!
