Sooo.. I've been following you a while now and you're obviously not a new hockey fan, but I do find it interesting how you interact with both the rpf part as an author and also how pissed off you get at the same time lmfao

I didn't comment on it because people have thoroughly analyzed it better than I ever could, both in terms of the sport but also the current political climate.

I don't know if you know about the amount of sexual assault/harassment/abuse cases (the world junior canadian team comes to mind first) that have been swept under the rug. (not only concerning women but also cases for hazing and abusive coaches). hockey in general is probably one of the MOST conservative and right leaning spaces I can think of, whatever tape they wear or videos they play on themed nights notwithstanding.

...honestly I was a little suprised by the media/fans reaction after the olympics, it might just be how fed up everyone is at the moment or a certain new hockey show shedding light (in my opinion, very little actually) on the nature of the sport but... these are rich, mostly straight and mostly white men.

this is definitely not to discourage anyone from following the sport, its unlike anything else and the influx of attention the past few months have been wonderful! and don't get me wrong there are some genuinely good guys in the nhl/ahl/echl. just be aware, don't idolize or stay willfully ignorant of the environment you've started to expose yourself too.

frustrations

prompt- Doing their hair for them.

Adam walked through his girlfriend’s house after saying bye to her parents as they left once he came over, she had recently injured her ACL in her last game of the season and had surgery yesterday and got back home early this morning.

He had a bag of goodies for her and holding a bouquet of her favorite flowers, he walked through the open doorway of her room and paused seeing her frustrated face as she tried to do her hair after her shower.

Adam quickly set the stuff on her desk and walked over to her where she sat on her be, “Let me darling.” Adam gently stopped her, he knew she was frustrated about needing so much help now.

Adam sat behind her and very gently began brushing out her freshly washed hair, “One or two?” Adam asked her, having done her hair many times before.

“Just one please.” She softy mumbled, she was frustrated not thinking she would have any problems doing her hair but she did and she was grateful to have Adam.

Adam began branding her hair into one french braid and tied off the end once he finished the braid, “There you go darling.” He gently rubbed her shoulders trying to cheer her up.

“Thank you.” She mumbled quietly and turned her head towards him flashing him a small appreciative smile.

“Oh! i got you a few things.” Adam remembered smiling excitedly and gently got off her bed and picked up the bouquet of flowers and bag before walking back to her and sitting down next to her and handing her bouquet first.

She smiled softly at Adam as she gently took the bouquet from him and her smile only got bigger as she watched him show her everything he brought for her.

“I love you.” She mumbled interrupting him not that Adam minded because he loved hearing her say those the words.

“I love you too.” Adam beamed back leaning to her and pressing a soft kiss to her cheek.
