"Vanilla...I don't think I have a memory-oh wait, no I do.
It was the Christmas of...2010? Somewhere around there, and the whole House was in the spirit. Thackery had prepared a whole feast ahead of time, Christmas Eve be exact, and the House ended up smelling like food. Like a whole mixture of foods. Garlic, roasted meats and vegetables. Nuts, pie crust, tea, everything. Now, this wasn't a bad thing mind you, but at the same time it didn't exactly smell like a Yankee Candle. So Christmas morning, while everybody was asleep, he gets up and decides to make the whole House (all 4 stories), smell like Christmas. He combined an orange, cinnamon, some cranberries, cloves, nutmeg, a lemon, rosemary, and vanilla. Granted he was still half asleep and put in three times as much of vanilla and almost no water.
The whole House ended up smelling like as if someone poured vanilla extract all over everything and then lit it on fire."
"Mint, that's an easy one. It reminds me of Cheshire.
When I was still young and living in the cottage by the TumTum Forest, I met the cat for the first time.
It was my last camping trip of the year, as it was getting rather cold in the evenings. I had just made a fire and was making myself supper when there was rustling in the nearby trees. Then suddenly this boy, around my age, came stumbling out. He was tired and dirty, scratched and bruised by the forest, and scared to death. After an hour or so, I got him calmed down and by the fire. I got some food in him, but he barely talked! All he said was his name was Cheshire and that he was looking for a plant. It was much too dark to find it now, so I told him who I was and where I lived, and that he could come with me tomorrow and I could have find him this plant.
Well the next morning, he was gone. A whole week went by, and I didn't seem him near the forest or at my home till the next week. When I found him curled up on the stoop of the back door of my cottage.
Me and my 'parents' got him cleaned up, but it was mostly me because he kept freaking out when they were near. They made some food, got him clothes, and make him up a little bed in my room. I got him cleaned and just kept talking to him. That was when I noticed the burn around his neck. I'd remembered that he was wearing a collar before, but I decided not to ask him about it. Instead I made a little healing poultice with mint in it, and put that on his neck for him every night.
Se seemed to like it because he ended up smoking menthols years later."
