My favourite sick!fic by far. Maybe because everyone is sick and suffering, thus everyone is cuddly. Or maybe because Tony is so in character; hiding away and not letting himself be weak. But probably because Phil is so BAMF. Damn, Phil.

Comments:

I remember reading something really insightful once. They said that Tony is good with people because he knows about people problems. He can relate because he's got so many himself. I love this fic because it really shows how much Tony understands people in trouble. But I adore this because of Tony's own problems and how he deals with it. The character development is beautiful in this fic. What he did takes so much courage and really, that strength of character is what made me love Tony as a character the first time I read his story.

Summary:

Except for Steve, who corners Tony in the workshop one day and actually says thank you out loud, which Tony considers the grossest violation of both Tower rules and common decency in general and won't talk to him for a week.

Comments:

I find myself falling in love all over again after reading this fic six months after the first time. Everything is subtle and nothing so explicitly stated but the emotions of this piece is what made me keep reading. You almost have to read everything twice to really grasp its entirety. And after you do, light angst turns to full blown tear-jerking angst and here we are.

Hell, even Stark's quips make his mouth quirk upwards slightly.

Comments:

I really like this one because it unexpectedly made me laugh so much. It's so funny! And the way the author had written it makes the plot flow so seamlessly that the relationship just becomes a natural progression. I really love just how simple it all is. There's no complicated plots, no evil villains, just two people and their interaction with each other and their friends. Perfect easy reading material.

There is a moment of total silence. Then Natasha curses in Russian and Clint bursts out with “I knew there was something off with those back-up singers!” Steve says nothing, but he blushes, and Thor claims that he noticed nothing out of the ordinary, as he tends to spontaneously burst into song anyway.

Or, the one where New York falls under a musical spell and that is not nearly as much fun as it sounds like.

Comments:

This is definitely not what I expected. If you're looking for a lighthearted, fluff fic, this isn't it. It does have it's funny moments. But at the core, this is crack treated seriously, and the issues of the Avengers, specifically Clint and Tony take center stage here. I love it so much. It's written well and brought me to tears of sorrow as well as laughter.I haven't tried the links to the songs as yet but the fact that the author provided them is definitely a plus. Definitely on my favourites list.

Another one to break up all the angst lately. This one had me emitting a frankly unattractive screeching noise. I never thought I'd ever read a Sailor Moon-Avengers fusion. I love this! I grew up with Sailor Moon so seeing all the Avengers say the ridiculous cheesy attacks is perfect! Also, "in the name of corporate responsibility"!! Gold!

Summary:

Post Avengers movie. Tony had figured that his life would go back to normal, or what passes as normal in Tony Stark's life, after the Chitauri Invasion - he was sadly mistaken. Fury isn't getting off his back about this whole team thing (never mind that most of his team mates are notable only through their absence), Pepper is dangerously close to a nervous breakdown due to his latest world-saving stunt (which really doesn't make his life any easier), terrorists have it out for him and the world by proxy, and Steve Rogers continues to defy all his expectations, somehow firmly inserting himself in Tony's life - all the while being ridiculously attractive and possibly the most oblivious person on the planet. Oh, and let's not forget the blue goo, there's blue goo, too. Sometimes Tony really hates his life.

Comments:

Continuing on with the angst fest, I have this one that I've downloaded and read at least 50 times. And that's not an exaggeration at all. I love how in this one the team just gradually come together around Tony. It really shows how like in the comics, while Steve may be the leader, Tony is just as important in holding the team together, because they're the "mom and dad" of the team. Civil war feels just crept up on me so I'm going to stop before I make myself cry.
