My main computer is a laptop which I use, fittingly, on my lap.
But for the last week I've been putting it down on a table or chair or anything really before checking my e-mail. Cause one of these days I'm gonna get an e-mail, and that e-mail will read 'Team 545 is going to Rome!' and I have zero doubts that, if I'm holding the laptop when that happens, I WILL fling it across the room.
So I just realized something.
I don't really care if I don't get to go to Rome and meet Misha. I mean, fuck yeah I really want to win. And more importantly, I really want my team to win so that they can all go to Rome. But I'm ok if I don't cause it's just gonna be one more incentive for me to get my ass in gear, make a portfolio and convince the crew of Supernatural to hire me. Because I AM going to work on that show as a script editor one day. And I AM going to have to start at the bottom and work my way up. But I AM going to do it and I AM going to be kick-ass at it because Supernatural is just amazing. And the cast and crew are amazing. The writing, the acting, the editing and fx's and music are all amazing. And I'm gonna find a way to be a part of that some day.
So I'm okay if I don't get to meet Misha in Rome, cause I'll just meet him on set when Cas is back and I'm working on script continuity.
Emotionally drained from Gishwhes? Check.
Stressed waiting to find out if your team won? Check.
Sore wrist from pulling a tendon Gishwheshing? Check.
Way behind in school work cause you were Gishwheshing? Check.
Going through withdrawal from constant e-mails from your team? Check.
Solution? Bake a big batch of fancy Ghirardelli chocolate brownies.
I calm down over GISHWHES and am all nice and relaxed.
And then it occurs to me that I might when a trip to Rome.
FREE trip to ROME. All because I spent a week and a half having a shit ton of fun.
I promptly start spazzing the fuck out again.
