Why did the tsitp ending feel like 'he got the girl' when it should have felt like 'she got the guy'???
SPOILERS FOR TSITP FINAL AHEAD🚨
So I just finished The Summer I turned Pretty final episode!! I have always and will always be team Conrad!!! (And team Bonrad - I’m a Belly defender)
I honestly thought it was such a perfect episode! It was everything I could have asked for. The joy I felt just seeing Conrad and Belly together and happy! MY HEART🥰❤️
Even the episode opening with Conrad was so refreshing and I truly adored seeing them in Paris together so much!!
(Also Belly looked absolutely gorgeous with her haircut - Lola is incredibly beautiful)
I also just want to comment on how mature Belly seemed I love how you can really see how being in Paris has shaped her - I’m so proud of her! I also loved how her and Conrad were COMMUNICATING. So satisfying to watch!!
(Plus Taylor and Seven communicating better was great too - I love them together!)
At one point in the episode I was crossing my fingers hoping that Belly and Conrad would kiss and that kiss scene was EVERYTHING!!!!! The pure passion shown was beautiful!!
When Belly and Conrad started talking about their relationship before Conrad leaves was when I started crying and then happy tears at the ending.
I have read the books (I watched them after season 1), so I was hoping to see Belly and Conrad’s wedding but I was still SO incredibly pleased with the episode so I don’t mind much)
The Christmas photos too - MY HEART MELTED!!!!🫠❤️
Now THIS is what susannah would've wanted😌
THE LOOK ON HIS FACE OH HE'S BEEN AS DESPERATE AS US FOR THIS
He loved her, and as hard as it was to say out loud, he meant every word, every letter, everything. He never meant for this to happen; it just did. He tried to hold it back, but it fell just like he did. He held it in until he couldn't. He knows that she loves him, but he has to tell her. She can't even look at his tearful eyes anymore. He needed to laugh, but not as much as he needed a good cry. He felt every emotion crashing down in that moment. Every wall, every barrier he had built, all crashed at once. But worst of all, the dam he built collapsed, and it all came tumbling down.
He fixes what he breaks, but he breaks what he tries to fix. He is a lover, not a fighter, unlike Jere. He doesn't use anyone for anything other than love. He doesn't need anything other than a shoulder to cry on. He's been through so much, and yet he still stands tall. He keeps his feelings bottled up, but he is always willing to open up. He is that kind of person who makes you think they are too perfect to be real.

guys i started watching tsitp because of a Tumblr post that had a picture of Connie, Jere and Adam in a car captioned "the car ride that almost undid four years of therapy" (the scene where adam tells them hes dating kayleigh) and after that i immediately watched it, just casually to see what everyone was crashing out about. I cried. I've yelled at my phone. I've thrown my phone. and something I've said since the beginning of the show is "belly be bellyflopping" because she keeps jumping between Connie and Jere. I also wanna say i feel like belly only chose jere because he wanted her and he was her 'safe' and so she settled. Like how Laurel settled for John
