Hello all. I wanted to share some information I received about the specifics of Team Calm's experiments and research.

If you are not familiar with Team Calm, Team Calm is a team focused on creating "ultra domesticated" Pokemon. These Pokemon have a lower prey drive, and are much more docile. Team Calm then gives away these Pokemon, or sells them for a profit. These Pokemon also have health issues, as well as general lethargy from decreased prey drive.

Many people have had concerns about how this was accomplished so quickly. Domestication is a slow process, and Team Calm is able to create UD lines very quickly.

I received information from someone who chooses to remain anonymous. Regretfully, the process by which Team Calm domesticates these Pokemon is one of cruel experimentation.

Team Calm has created a certain compound that is used to speed up the domestication process. This is quickly injected into Pokemon eggs, and fundamentally changes how the Pokemon develops inside the egg.

You may have seen some of the UD Pokemon. As previously stated, they come with health issues and lethargy. These are the ones Team Calm advertises. They are the best case scenario.

The documents I have received show a history of unethical experimentation. The compound they inject into Pokemon eggs is fundamentally incompatible with many species of Pokemon.

I have spent hours digging through documents and reports about the worst case scenarios of these experiments. The ones that do not hatch are lucky.

The ones that do hatch will rarely live long. The results vary greatly. Some have instincts so nonexistent the Pokemon does not even know how to breathe, and ends up suffocating because it never figured out breathing. Some Pokemon are born with jaws so far back their skulls are permanently impacted. Some Pokemon are born with such great fear and prey instinct they die from that fear alone, even if they are physically well.

What Team Calm is showing you are the successes. We should have been asking about the failures.

whatever the hell team calm has going on is giving me the willies. sure, breeding the most cooperative and docile pokemon sounds like it would work, but the thing is... most pokemon are already domesticated? domestication is defined as the process by which animals pokemon are changed over centuries of living with and alongside humans. They have been selectively bred over centuries to view humans as friends and companions.

some species are more independent than others, but generally speaking the average trainers pokemon is already well inclined towards humans.

A LOT of the stigma around more aggressive Pokemon is due to bad training and trauma and the fact that Pokemon are INTELLIGENT. Gyarados, for example, rampage because they remember what was done to them as Magikarp and they finally have a means to express that frustration.

I'm deeply concerned that team calm is doing something to the intelligence of these "super domesticated" pokemon, because the timeframe they're working in is .. alarming. Not to mention that I'm certain that if they actually manage to get these Pokemon distributed to the public, cases of Pokemon abuse will SKYROCKET now that they are unable/unwilling to defend themselves.

A Raid on Team Calm's Lab?!

Due to further issues found with Team Calm's Pokemon, outrage ensues and their Alola Lab will be raided to save the Pokemon captive there!

Relatively low stakes single day event, during the Miku Pride Performance. Likely sometime between June 7th and June 14th. Exact date will be announced once it approaches.

Team Calm is GOING DOWN!

( @challengedbywiley and anyone else in the team calm raid who wants to interact-)

"Ok...here goes..." Grace mumbled, sliding off of Kori as they landed outside the Team calm base. "Everyone ready?" "Ready as I'll ever be.." Vincent nodded-completely out of the pokedex. He figured he'd wanna see all this in person. "Think anyone we know'll be here? I mean-we KNOW but-...you get my point."

The shot opens over a large grazing pasture. The sky is grey with rainclouds although it seems to be more of a drizzle than proper rain.

Whoever is holding the camera doesn't say anything as the video starts, but rather switches the angle to landscape view before focusing the lens on a flock of mareep and flaffy in the distance.

'Go to work.' A strange phrase out of context, but after a few seconds a manetric appears running at full tilt towards the flock, away from the camera man. The mareep immediatly begin avoiding the dog 'mon, which takes a wide arc around them and causes the entire flock to begin moving towards the camera.

The cameraman turns away and a hand is seen opening a gate, and dragging the wooden barbed wire fence outwards. The camera turns back to the manetric, who has successfully manuvered the mareep into a position where most of the flock willingly wanders into the open gate.

As the dog mon loops around the right side to 'motivate' stragglers, a single large teal colored mareep makes a break for it off the left side. The free hand of the cameraman comes up and a sharp whistle almost peaks the mic. The manetric perks up, notices the runaway and almost effortlessly intercepts the rebel.

The mareep puts up a fuss - to the point of releasing what could easily be recognized as a thundershock to most trainers.

The manetric seems unaffected by the attack - and has an almost unimpressed expression on its face - before baring sharp teeth and escorting the sheep back to the open gate with snarling and not a small amount of snapping at at its heels. (A trained eye would also notice that not once does the manetric actually touch the mareep - the bites are placed where the pokemon was, not where it would be.)

After the last sheep is secured behind the fence, and the latch shut, the cameraman gives the manetric a pat on the head, and the command 'Stand Down.'

The dog 'mon begins trapsing across the empty field, and halfway through lies on its back and does a good old fashioned victory wiggle in the grass.

ok, so I’ve heard that some people are having issues with their ‘ultra domesticated’ Pokemon from Team Calm due to their incredibly passive dispositions. I’m not going to make a statement here on Team Calm’s unethical (to put it lightly) methodology, if only because if I start that rant I will be unable to stop, and I can’t promise this post will be helpful to all of you (or indeed any of you)-

Basically, what I’m getting at is that my starter pokemon was a golett I raised from an egg. If you know anything about human-hatched goletts you will know that they are loyal to a fault - it’s a part of how they were made to follow orders. Thankfully, since I trained it in assertiveness, I now have a Golurk who will not hesitate At All to let me know when it doesn’t like or doesn’t want to do something. And that’s great! Because Pokemon have a right to, you know, agency!

Obviously all Pokémon are different, and what worked for my Little Man may not work for you, but here are some general tips that I used to help my Golett assert itself:

Perhaps most important is to show them how to assert themselves through example. This can be through setting your own boundaries in front of them, however it can also be done with your other pokemon. For example, I caught Frazzle not long after Little Man hatched, and whenever Frazzle would reasonably assert herself I would reward her in front of Little Man to let it know what it should be doing.

Give them choices - easy choices, preferably between no more than two options at first. Like, if they want a cherri or a pecha berry as a snack. Be patient with them, as it’s likely going to take quite a while for them to chose. If they really struggle, make it choice between two virtually identical objects - like two differently sized berries.

Reward them whenever they do set boundaries! Even if it’s inconvenient for you - obedience training can come after you have thoroughly deprogrammed them from their obedience.

Be very liberal with praise and affirmations. Even when they mess up. Especially when they mess up. Allow them to become comfortable with failure. Let them know that you love them without them having to heed your every command.

For the majority of you this last point won’t apply, but for the (hopefully) very few of you it does apply to - do not Ever take advantage of your Pokémon’s nature. Not even as a joke. You’ll never deprogramme them if you reinforce the idea that they need to obey you to be loved.

That’s all I’ve got for now, but if anyone needs further tips on deprogramming overly obedient Pokemon, drop me an ask and I’ll see if I can help!

So, this is the "ultra domesticated" gastly. I named her Eris.

As you can see the smog surrounding her is more wispy and transparent. She's also a lot lighter in color than a normal gastly (and I'm pretty sure she's not a shiny), and also has light colored spots all over her. It's also hard to tell but her fangs are a lot smaller and not as sharp as they should be (Trust me normal gastly have VERY sharp fangs).

Now this may look cute, but she is absolutely WAY to friendly and affectionate. If she were to be released (which I REFUSE to do), she would be immediately preyed upon probably by another ghost types. She also cannot learn battle moves, so once again she has no way of defending herself, which is... scary.

I'm going out later to get her a ball, I'm thinking a luxury one just to make sure she's comfortable when I start traveling again.

If anyone has any advice or suggestions, I'm always open to some.
