Any ideas for "team caretaking"? A team working to make sure Whumpee is safe?

I read "team" and was immediately nodding. I am always up for anything related to team whump anon 😌

(not all of these ideas involve making sure Whumpee is safe but they all involve some kind of team caretaking so I hope they're still what you were looking for!)

Whumpee is severely wounded, bleeding out on the floor as the healer member does their best to treat them while all the other team members stand around them in a circle, ready to tear anyone who comes too close to pieces. They won’t let anybody hurt Whumpee ever again

Whumpee is sick, and though it might not even be that serious, the team refuses to leave them alone for even a moment in case they wake up and need something. So they take turns, and everyone watches over Whumpee until they are better. Bonus points if when they wake up from a troubled sleep, the one taking care of them calls everyone else and the whole team worriedly hovers over Whumpee even though there’s barely enough space for everyone in the room

Or the same scenario but Whumpee is very hurt and has to be constantly monitored. Mmm the worry everyone will feel watching poor Whumpee squirming in pain and whimpering even while unconscious, no one wanting to leave the room and take their eyes off them

Whumpee crying in Caretaker’s arms after they are rescued, and the rest of the team listening to it on the other side of the door, crying too as each of Whumpee’s sobs shatter their hearts completely

Oh and let us not forget the classic Team Has To Hold Whumpee Down To Treat Them trope. Maybe Whumpee is scared of needles and needs stitches. Maybe they are too out of it to know what’s going on and need to be held still. Perhaps they are in too much pain and freak out when their team starts applying pressure to their wound. Or, my personal favorite, they need to have a wound cauterized and there are no anesthetics nearby. Whatever the reason, the team is forced to pin Whumpee down and watch them trash and scream under their hands, absolutely terrified of the people they consider their family, and though the team's hands shake and their hearts break as they hold them, no one lets go, no matter how much Whumpee sobs and begs them to stop

Whumper is after Whumpee, but the team doesn't tell them that so they won’t be scared. They end up lying and having to work double as hard to keep Whumpee safe since they don’t know they’re in danger, but it all pays off when they see Whumpee living their life without fear, laughing freely, joking around (whumpy™ alternative: it all backfires when Whumper manages to kidnap Whumpee precisely because they didn’t know there was a threat to them in the first place)

Captivity whump and every single one of the team members try to offer themselves to be tortured instead of the whumpee. Which, of course, only makes Whumper want to torture Whumpee more, be it away from the team so only the sounds of Whumpee's agony reaches their ears, or right in front of them to see them screaming even louder than Whumpee as the team does their very best to get to them despite the restraints, and eventually just sobs in desperation as the torture goes on and there's nothing they can do to stop it. Once it's over, they make sure to wipe the fear off their faces as Caretaker cradles Whumpee's bleeding form in their arms and everyone else sits around them, promising everything will be okay, that they're getting them out of there, telling stories to distract them and stroking their hair until Whumpee finally falls asleep. Only then does the team allow themselves to weep, and promise each other that they are never going to let that happen again

“If you want to get to them, you’ll have to go through us first.”

And if you’re in the mood for angst: the team locks Whumpee up so they won’t get hurt/self-sacrifice/fight. Bonus points if Whumpee has trauma involving being locked up already. Bonus bonus points if the team stands right behind the door of where they put Whumpee in, listening to their screams and pleads to be let out, everyone staring at each other with tears in their eyes and guilt on their faces, but no one moves to open the door – it’s better to have Whumpee scared than dead
