I finally decided to make my own proper Crash Bandicoot oc! Her name is Doctor Natasha Dulge, usually referred to as N. Dulge! She gets her name from her insistence that the N-Team indulge a little more, by taking more frequent breaks and treating themselves right. I like to think of her as a foil to the N-Team’s usual antics, but she has a good heart and means well (though perhaps a little too well). She has a pretty dark and disturbing past, and her main goal is to pull herself away from said past by distancing herself as far away from it as possible. And what better way to do it than on the Wumpa Islands! There’s nothing scary there at all! .... or... is there?

As stated in the notes in the drawings, she is a neuroscientist and therapist that Brio hired, for several reasons. Mostly to help him feel better (conflict with Cortex and whatnot), but also to prevent anyone from overworking themselves. Of course, since her fellow scientists are so interested in their respective fields, they see her as more of an annoyance. That is, except for Brio himself and N. Gin, who appreciates the free time. She is technically on Uka Uka’s side, but doesn’t know much about him, other than the fact that she’s no use to him in the greater scheme of things.

Despite seemingly having her life together (at least in comparison to her fellow scientists), Natasha has quite the dark history. A few years before joining the N-Team, she was living a rather different life. She was addicted to medication, and at the rate she was taking it in, it had a heavy impact on her mood and her mental state. The worst of it came to a head when she chopped her right arm off (and later replaced it with the giant syringe arm you see now). It seemed to her, after that episode, that no one would look at her the same way again. They’d see her as just a lunatic, and in her mind, they were probably right. She tried her best to reform herself, to do better, to shake herself from her old habits. And perhaps the people from her hometown still do find her to be insane, but N. Brio didn’t, and that was what mattered in the grand scheme of things.

Natasha found Brio in her pursuit of a job, something nearly impossible to get now that she’d  become so... odd looking. But finding a job listing for a henchman in an eccentric scientist’s castle? It seemed like a place where she wouldn’t be judged for her appearance, or her past. So she made her way there. She was initially rejected by Cortex for having a seemingly useless role, but she could tell there were things she could fix there! It was the perfect opportunity, she wouldn’t let it slip by! So she was hired, against Cortex’s judgement. She proved useful, not only helping the two scientists, but also the mutants. She seemed so good at it, like she must’ve been studying for years upon years, waiting for this moment. 

Ultimately, though their introduction was rough, Cortex and Dulge ended up getting along, and though it pained her, Dulge sided with Cortex when Brio had a change of heart, and she’s kept her position in Cortex Castle since, mostly because of the sense of security she feels there. Truthfully, she could never really rebel against Cortex because she feels safe within the walls of his castle, despite hating his guts. It’s a complicated situation, for sure.

Hello dear Crash Bandicoot fandom

While this blog may be new, I’ve been playing Crash Bandicoot ever since I was old enough to hold a Playstation controller. Surprised I hadn’t made a blog for this beloved franchise sooner tbh.

Like many of my blogs, I post writings and take requests for headcanons and imagines as well as reblog anything Crash Bandicoot related!! This marks my like 20th writing blog I think.

I’ll have a link to rules n shit later but I hope to immerse myself in tumblrs Crash Bandicoot fandom!!

I got really into drawing N. Gin recently...

He’s honestly such a fun character to draw, and I’m not entirely certain why? I think it’s the asymmetricality of his design and his unique silhouette? Either way, really simple, really fun, all in all, very nice.

Bonus appearance from N. Tropy because I figured it would be nice to practice drawing him too! (though he’s way more difficult than Gin if I’m being honest here.)

I am so excited for the final CTR Grand Prix, I decided to draw N. Dulge in a new outfit based on it! I actually really enjoyed doing all the detail work here, I think I might draw more wacky outfits for her as I hear more crash news or focus on old games I like.
