RPDR 10: Top 7 Power Rankings!

Guess what, guys? We’re at the halfway point in Season 10 of Rupaul’s Drag Race. That’s right-- we’re at the top seven. From this point on, it’s going to get much more competitive. All of the viewers have picked their queen to win (or have switched theirs bc their fave got eliminated in episode 4... not projecting). 

At this point, track record is important. It gives us a good picture of who is *hypothetically* most likely to make it to the crown. So, let’s power rank! Here’s the system:

Challenge Win = 2 POINTS High = 1 POINT Safe = NO POINTS Low = -1 POINT LSFYL = -2 POINTS

Obviously, the one with the most points is the highest ranked and so on. It’s not a hard game to follow. I’m going to rank from lowest to highest (because, y’know, suspense). Let’s go!

7. THE VIXEN (-3 POINTS)

WINS: 1 HIGH: 0 SAFE: 3 LOW: 1 LSFYL: 2

The Vixen has definitely been a competitor this season, though maybe more with the other queens than the actual challenges. Her constant tumbling and stunts have kept her shantay-ing for the past two weeks after her lackluster performances in the challenge, but after the power rankings, she’s most likely to be booted next. 

6. MONET X CHANGE (-1 POINTS)

WINS: 0 HIGH: 3 SAFE: 2 LOW: 0 LSFYL: 2

Monet hit a rough patch in weeks 4 and 5, having to lip sync twice in a row, but her phenomenal lip syncing skills combined with her redemption arc in weeks 6 and 7 have made her one to beat. But will her luck keep up with her? We can only see in episodes to come.

5. ASIA O’HARA (0 POINTS)

WINS: 1 HIGH: 0 SAFE: 4 LOW: 2 LSFYL: 0

Asia O’Hara was a frontrunner for me at the beginning of the season. However, as the weeks have progressed, the only thing I remember her for is her stunning runway looks and her horrible Snatch Game performance. Aside from that, she’s blended into the crowd (as shown by her four safe spots). 

4. KAMERON MICHAELS (2 POINTS)

WINS: 0 HIGH: 3 SAFE: 3 LOW: 1 LSFYL: 0

Kameron Michaels is the definite underdog of Season 10 and my pick to win. After ditching her Kelly Mantle entrance wig, she has served nothing but flawless looks. Week after week, she has shown great promise and versatility, proving she can sew, proportionize, and do a damn good Chyna impression. But she has yet to impress the judges just enough to grant her a challenge win. We’re all waiting for that “wow!” factor from Kameron Michaels, but once we do, I feel like she’ll be a powerhouse.

3. MIZ CRACKER (3 POINTS)

WINS: 0 HIGH: 4 SAFE: 2 LOW: 1 LSFYL: 0

Miz Cracker is an obvious fan favorite for her witty humor and amazing looks. She seems to be a favorite for the judges as well, as her scores reflect a show-stopping character. Like Kameron, she has yet to win a challenge, but she definitely has the potential to snatch the crown. 

2. EUREKA O’HARA (4 POINTS)

WINS: 2 HIGH: 2 SAFE: 2 LOW: 0 LSFYL: 1

Rupaul’s “Eureka!” moment really was bringing her back to Season 10. She has been a constant threat to the competition. Although she made a slip-up in week 2 and had to lip sync, her skills in the lip sync make me (and everyone else) confident that she’ll land a spot in the Top 4. She won two challenges in a row, and I honest-to-God thought she was going to hit win number three after Snatch Game. The elephant queen is a force to be reckoned with. 

1. AQUARIA (4 POINTS)

WINS: 2 HIGH: 0 SAFE: 5 LOW: 0 LSFYL: 0  

From Instagram look queen to frontrunner in the competition, Aquaria has yet to make any mistakes. And knock on wood, because she is absolutely killing everyone else. The only queen in the competition who hasn’t made it to the bottom three yet, she is the one to beat. A lot of Drag Race fans underestimated her at the start of the competition--I personally thought she was going to be another Pearl--but we stand corrected. She can act, she can turn looks, and she can make a damn costume. Watch out for her.

seriously though, say what you want about this win but you can’t say Aquaria didn’t turn. it. out 

Don’t find a reason to go rain on her parade by sending her hate, or any of the girls for that reason. 

It’s just a show, at the end of the day. Go support the queens you love, instead of sending their friends hate or threats!

Ever since I can remember, I have been fat and loud. Ever since I was a kid I have been told by friends and family and bullies alike that I'm too loud, that I'm too much, that I'm obnoxious and annoying and hard to get along with, that I get too excited about too much. I have been told to shut up, to lose weight, that I'm ugly, that I will never be beautiful and loved as I am. Countless times. Up until recently, I have really and truly believed all that as well. I myself found Eureka annoying as Hell until I realized the core reason why I do - she's just like me. She is big and she is too much and that was the part of my core personality I have been trying to kill for years. She's the confident, loud, big woman I wish I had the strength to be. She, hopefully with some work, is who I could be in a few years. And that's why Eureka O'Hara is my queen. Thank you, Eureka, for strutting all you have so proudly and showing me I CAN be successful and loved just as I am. That I don't have to shut up, stand in the corner and be ashamed of who I am because someone once told me to. It's time for a big girl to win and there's NO-ONE more deserving in the drag race big girl hall of fame than Eureka! Prints of this available for sale at my redbubble shop!

Happy Pride Month, y’all! Day 28 of my #superpride series: The Fantastic Final Four of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 10! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈But for serious, Kathleen, in talking with students, and particularly rural folks, over the last few years, I’ve come to appreciate how Drag Race serves as a vital link to larger queer cultures. For many of us, these kweens ARE superheroes!

***Greenhouse Academy - Season 2 Spoilers*** ***DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN SEASON 2*** The irony and foreshadowing of this scene is quite interesting. There is exactly 3 Ravens and 3 Eagles. These are the 6 I wouldn't have expected to be in the same room let alone get along with really well because of their history in season 1. They are also standing by the one they have feelings for. I don't know if this was by accident or on purpose, but it foreshadows what is to come later on. As couples they all balance each other out because they are complete opposites. The saying that opposites attract is the truth and shown here. There's also no jealousy drama either. At one point all of them were in a love triangle of some sort. What I find refreshing is that they were honest and bold about their emotions towards the one they have feelings for. I really hope if they bring season 3, that we will see some scenes of these 6 together in a fun and more relaxed situation and individually with their significant other. They are the epitome of a great team as couples and together. Even though Daniel and Hayley were the leaders essentially, everyone contributed to the outcome which I admired. They are all intelligent in their own ways and used their individual abilities to help stop the master plan. I also love how they trusted each other and no one stepped on anyone's toes. ***So to the writers of this show please give us more Team Eureka in season 3!!!
