An eccentric composer’s work in the ‘80s & ‘90s played a pivotal role in pushing video game audio from amusing bleeps and bloops into a realm of infinite possibility.
I truly adore George “The Fat Man” Sanger, and both he and Team Fat tend to get overlooked in many people’s minds when it comes to the history of game audio/music. Doesn’t hurt that he and his associates are all hilarious.
Definitely worth stalking every used book store that I could find, on- and offline, until I managed to snag a paperback of Tasty Morsels of Sonic Goodness: The Fat Man on Game Audio long before its reissue, too.
