So today at school we had a debate about whether or not the two atomic bombs should have been dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. I was on the no side (duh) and we won!! I am so proud of my team and of my beliefs right now, seriously this makes me so happy. Our argument was so great that we converted a kid on the other side; it was the best thing ever. One of my teammates had just brought up how anyone who hadn’t died in the initial blast either died of severe burns, radioactive poisoning, or starvation/dehydration because all of they’re food and water were destroyed or contaminated. Then the teacher was like “Team Yes, rebuttal” and the kid was like “Sorry I just changed my opinion on everything.” So congratulations to my awesome team for showing that innocent human lives matter so much more than “national pride”
