Amy and Tails reside in Sunset City to lead the Resistance, while Knuckles is their backup while guarding the Master Emerald!

everyone’s a bit older (aka a few months) after the war, so that’s why there’s some notable changes in their designs!

FREEDOM FIGHTERS ARE CANON IN THE SOS VERSE LET’S GOOOOOOOO

Tekno is a wisp expert, and the one who made the wispons in the first place! Eggman could never find her because she lives in snowy mountains lol

Kit’s got more of a backstory here :) he’s more like Satam Tails here, and he does still have his water backpack from his concept art (since it looks way cooler fight me), but he was actually saved by Tails before he could be captured by Starline off the streets

Shortfuse is actually an Eggman robot, not a roboticized one, and looks more like the hammer wielding egg mechs in idw. Eggman tried giving this robot a personality to lure in Sonic with his naturally fight-loving attitude, buuuut ended up making Shortfuse act a lot like Sonic, just without the nice part. And such, he ran away into the same mountains where Tekno lived and almost froze out there before she took him in!

Tiara ‘Sally’ Acorn wasn’t actually the leader at first, but after Sonic and Tails visited the Acorn family in the biggest city for Mobians out there (which I’m just gonna call Mobotropolis because yes), she decided she wanted to join the Resistance! But her parents didn’t want her to go with Sonic because his adventures were too dangerous, but Tekno offered a more stealthy way to be part of joining the Resistance, hence being in the Freedom Fighters! On her first mission, she found a staff from the echidna tribe that could give her power (I haven’t decided entirely how it works yet spare me), and proved to be a great leader! Soon enough, she was promoted to the leader of the Freedom Fighters, but shares a lot of Sonic’s attitude as well

Niccy was one of Eggman’s experiments while the war was still going on, he had tried to genetically make Wisp hybrids to power his empire, but only a few were made before they ran away as well. Team SOS found them, and brought them to the one and only Wisp expert herself, Tekno and she took them in! While most of them want to stay back in her house where it’s safe, Niccy takes it upon herself to go on field missions with the freedom fighters and eventually inspires the others to do the same!

like we can all agree Blaze has been underutilized in Sonic stuff, but I decided after watching all stories from 06 (because I’m DEFINITELY mentally sane), I would bring Mephiles back because he’s an awesome villain!!

Phantom Ruby lore in Team SOS

I know a lot of people find the Phantom Ruby bland and/or overpowered in general due to it’s debut in Sonic Forces, but I actually find it interesting due to how little we still know about it. Even at the end of the game, we didn’t get a full explanation of what it was or where it came from, and it leaves a lot of open discussion on those parts.

So in response, I made my own crazy ass lore for the Phantom Ruby (under the cut)

since the Phantom Ruby is heavily tied to people’s perception of reality, I had an idea that a multiverse god (which wouldn’t be far fetched to exist considering where we are rn in the Sonic franchise w/ the ancients) used the Phantom Ruby to morph the reality in each world/dimension for the people inhabiting it, which would explain why Infinite’s illusions of Metal, Chaos, Shadow and Infinite seemed very lifelike and were able to make physical contact with Sonic to beat him down.

And once this multiverse god which I’m just gonna call Sega (no I’m definitely not gonna make the company of Sega into a multiverse god in my AU<-lie) finishes constructing reality, they leave the Phantom Ruby in this new world, as they no longer have a use for it in that world specifically. But one they do leave it, the Ruby immediately can tell it’s dealing with unfamiliar territory, along with unfamiliar people.

In this AU, the Phantom Ruby does have a mind of it’s own to some extent, but mainly exists as a tool for others to use, and the one it’s most familiar with in using it’s power for is Sega. When someone else tries to use it for example, like morphing reality of the world which can be done by attuning the ruby to your body like what Infinite did, the ruby would only allow the user to use a certain amount of power, unlike with Sega. If said host does go past the limit the Phantom Ruby sent for them, it will trigger a reaction that will trap the user in the ruby, preventing them from doing any more harm to the world’s reality.

As we all know, Infinite did that himself. And by this AU’s logic, he’s trapped in the ruby… but it’s actually not just him. I did want to make the Phantom Ruby a cosmic horror, so I made the Phantom Ruby’s core be like a hive mind, where every Phantom Ruby is connected, along with the people unfortunate enough to be trapped inside it. But that’s not all, the Phantom Ruby in this AU grows due to how much power that’s similar to it’s own manifests, so those who imbedded the ruby onto their boy would have small veins of the ruby growing on their body and splitting out of it.

And I also feel like Eggman would’ve tuned Infinite’s mask to also be imbedded with the ruby’s power to some extent, like using cues in the brain to initiate possible headaches and pain onto someone else. So…. The ruby would also manifest its power with Infinite’s mask a bit. The ruby grew so much there that it molded Infinite’s mask onto his face, and it eventually grew so much that it broke the bottom of his mask and splitting it, giving Infinite a new jaw as most of his face would have the ruby growing in it, and even more inside of him. And the other parts of the ruby that got fractured due to the split sort of became his new teeth.

yea you could imagine how scary that would be, but I hope you enjoyed my ramblings!
