Let’s chat RUNNING SHOES. I was looking to run more naturally when I discovered @altrarunning . Their wider toe box and zero heel drop was exactly what I was looking for. Like most people, I tried their fastest looking model first - the Escalantes. Unfortunately, they were too minimal for me so I went with one stack height level up which were the Torins. I really enjoyed the ride of the Torin 3.5, 4, and 4.5 Plush. I’ve trained, raced, and completed seven back to back 30Ks in them while fundraising for @ppe.relief without a problem. But, if I was to nitpick I would wish for a sightly lower stack height and a slightly more narrow toe box which will in turn make a lighter shoe. That’s why I was so pumped when Altra decided to give me the new Rivera (pictured) in exchange for promotion on my Instagram. As one of the first people to run in these shoes (one run being a marathon over 14 NYC bridges with @runforchinatown ), either Altra read my mind or they hacked my wishlist. The Rivera is the happy medium between the Escalante and the Torins with a 26mm stack height, a gram or so lighter, and snugger fit. You can check them out yourself at the link in my bio. Thank you Altra. I can talk about running shoes all day, so I will. Tonight at 6pm, I’ll be chatting “How To Buy The Right Pair Of Running Shoes” here on Instagram LIVE with @calla_murphy of @jackrabbitunionsquare .
