Bom Dia! It’s already Wednesday and life had so many nice surprises for us that we had to take a virtual time-out... So, let’s rewind to Monday, when we finally went to Belem to visit @isto.pt - a pretty fresh and wonderful label from Portugal 🇵🇹 fusing modern, conscious ideas and the country’s great tradition of high-quality craft. We had seen their organic and fair produced line of basics online and were already interested because of their looks and transparent policy but we were curious of how it looked and felt in real life - as sometimes expectations are high but eventually also the disappointment... isto. was nothing but a pleasant surprise luckily! 👌🏼Their new fit for women is perfect in every way (and we are some quite different body types, one short and girlish, one taller and with curves) - the fabric also felt pretty great on our skin. We rarely find basics so perfectly fitting (and we are picky, yes). Also the linen shirt is nothing but impeccable 🙏🏼. We would neither write that nor use our time to take pictures of the items if we weren’t in love with them and had bought them happily to support a brand that combines good values and good style✌🏼. We are for sure no fashion addicts but we love conscious, sustainable and aesthetic wear which makes us feel there is a mission and some passion behind. So we’re not only dressed well in @isto.pt but also wearing a vision we like to carry further. Bom Dia! What do you think is freedom? I think it´s to feel firmly rooted in something, to have a deep trusting connection with this world, a certain place, certain people, your body. When you´re striving to reach up high, when you want to grab the stars, as funny as this may sound to some, it´s much harder if you´re not grounded. It´s even dangerous sometimes because every little adverse wind can make us lose balance and feel disconnected and insecure very easily. I used to think the realm of the mind was "the real deal" and while it is still a pretty important thing and while the brain is a very powerful tool we shouldn´t underestimate the very basic and often more physical world. Since I have started to do Yoga on a more regular base I´m amazed how grounding just the right posture can be at times or such small tasks like concentrating on your breath, just this. It connects you with yourself, your body, the very physical world and helps you manage stress, fear, confusion. It´s the same with family and friends, sometimes a little chat with them just helps you to understand what strange constructions you sometimes build in your head, where you create your own distorted reality. If you know what it is that helps you calm down and feel connected and rooted again that is a powerful tool to only seldom feel lost or overwhelmed. Bom Dia! This image is a wonderful reminder of the process that life is. Layer by layer it grows, has different colors, different shapes but the beauty of it is not a single layer but the whole ensemble. At certain points in our life we could never have imagined everything that came after and if someone would have told us about all of the changes and transformations we would go through we would have probably not believed him. And it might be the same at this very stage in our life. We might think, most of our life will just continue as it does now but when we will be able to look back in 10 more years we might be astonished how much we changed, again. There are people who think it´s the safest that everything just stays the same, that are afraid of making one step forward into the unknown because, sure, it is a strange feeling, to put your foot on a new path. But well, sometimes it´s really just this one first little step that makes a big difference in the long term. Each of us has an area in their lives where we are afraid to make this step, if it is in our profession/career, with regard to friendship or family or also romantic love. Where are you always hesitating to be a tiny bit more daring and make a step towards something you want? If you have found the answer, trust in your ability and strength to adapt your route in this specific direction with pinch of more courage in your heart. I can do so, we can do so, you can do so! We are all vulnerable deep within. But courage can be practised as everything else. Bom Dia! We hope you had a beautiful start into this morning and are starting this week with some motivation. Instead of complaining about Monday, let´s be thankful about a new day in our life that is given to us and that we can fill with our love and energy. If you feel like there is something holding you back from blossoming it may help to find some time for reflection, now, or during the day. Sometimes there is something on our chest, something unsaid, something uncommunicated – may it be that we´re hiding this from ourselves or from someone else. Try to figure out what it might be. Sometimes it´s just little things but we´re dragging them around, maybe even accumulating them and eventually it feels heavy to move forward. So what is it, which worry, which thought, which concern, which desire that is unspoken and keeping you from moving on with ease? If there is nothing, great, but if you stumble over anything give yourself permission to let it out and let it go. Communicate it, to yourself, someone it concerns or to the world. Let it out and let it go, gently and with love. Bom Dia! For today we leave you with this picture of a beautiful world often hidden to us, at least until we dive into it and turn our gaze around a little: The underwater world. Amazing how there are gardens so different to the ones we usually stroll through and yet with patterns and structures that seem familiar and that we discover again in other places at times. Some structures in this pic look even a little like our brains. There are links in the shapes we encounter in different species and so how could we not feel that there is a kind of relationship between everything in this world and that there are other hidden things, that connect us in one way or another. What we are able to sense and perceive might just be a tiny fraction of what there is for other creatures. And some things in our world don’t exist for them. How crazy that is and how much magic there is in this. Who knows what is all there, right around us, that we can´t see or sense, colors, sounds, scents... This world is even richer than we manage to understand. So how could we not feel it´s a world of abundance that just waits to be explored and discovered? Thus we suggest, you go through this day with eyes that are a bit more open than usually, with a body that is a bit more sensitive than usually, with ears that are a bit more receptive than usually, with a nose that is a bit more curious than usually, with taste buds that are more explorative and with a heart that is as well a bit more open than you usually allow... this is how you get a taste of the abundance in this world and this is how you will realize there is no need for feeling any kind of lack. Enjoy the magic around you! Bom Dia! This rock resp. this view is part of my very favourite hiking routes on Madeira island. It´s amazing to see all the layers and sediments that are part of the evolution of the island and its surrounding. How the colors and shapes are embracing each other and forming a whole is a true artwork of nature. It´s very sculptural and meanwhile telling a story of how it was moulded by time and the forces of nature. I´m really astonished by the presence of that rock and the transformation and silent wisdom that are part of it. And somehow we are not so different: We are also shaped by our experiences and stories, by different forces in our environment, all these kind of sediments are part of our own evolution as a person as well. The rock can teach us that there is a lot of beauty and wisdom in ourselves, too. Even if some of the things that shaped us have been rough and uncomfortable they made us this individual we are. If we look at ourselves with this curious and amazed, open attitude, if we have a closer look at these sediments of ours we can learn a lot from them and gain a better understanding of our individual (hi)story. In any way we should embrace all of it, the whole of us, even the parts or especially the parts that may be connected to pain and not so good feelings. Only if we acknowledge these parts, too, we can make our peace with ourselves and feel whole, only then are we ready to let them go, forgive ourselves and others and move on without this baggage. Only then are we ready to look at the traces of it and realize the lessons and wisdoms that we were taught there. Bom Dia! Sometimes it´s hard to keep up an attitude of positivity and love when you´re surrounded by angry faces and bad vibes. It´s natural that this is influencing us to a certain extent but it shouldn´t discourage us, it should rather motivate us even more to make a difference and change the atmosphere through concentrating on a grateful, loving mindset that is not only seeing the negative but much more thankful for the good things in life. It´s really like unexpectedly encountering these wonderful flowers that bloom and transform the whole surrounding into something beautiful. You will make a difference, be sure. You´ll inspire some of the people around you to go and look for the beauty within theirselves and in their lives.
