A Thanksgiving Letter
As another year passes, and we enter the second season of my writing career, I am reminded of how lucky I’ve been during the process. I have made great friendships along the way and had the opportunity to meet many of my readers who have been inspired by the stories I’ve created. Bringing a world to life that others excitedly delve into is an honor that I could never accurately describe. I still can’t believe it.
This year, I’m thankful that everyone is in a healthier state and we are starting to come together again as a community. I lost a dear friend and avid reader of my books this past year due to COVID and my heart goes out to all of you who have lost someone as well. I’ve had a few of my own health setbacks and sadly withdrew from writing because of it. I have a lot of catching up to do. I’m so thankful for both the patience and well wishes from my readers during that difficult time. I’m still getting there.
As we sit down to celebrate the holiday, please remember that it’s the little moments that matter the most. Even though Iverli doesn’t have a Thanksgiving, I would like to think that Abigail and her friends take time to appreciate how far they’ve gone in such a short time. Their friendships and the families they choose are what drives them to meet every challenge. It’s the same thing that we do as we enter the holiday season. Connection is what really matters. Take the time to write an author that you love, call a distant friend you haven’t spoken to in ages, hug a family member. Family is who we choose and I hope yours brings you warmth. Happy Thanksgiving, my readers, I promise to make 2022 count!
