I haven’t deadlifted this much weight in almost 2 years. Pretty happy how training has been going. I should be able to peak in 2 months to do a meet before my birthday. • • • A lifting tip I would like to share with you guys is my new deadlift strategy, it’s been working very well for me. On all my warm ups I only pull enough to get the bar going and accelerate through the movement. I’m never giving my full 100% until my very last deadlift, when I hit and give it my all right off the floor. My last deadlift has been ending up easier then my last warmup. I’m not exerting any unnecessary energy on the warmups and I’m able to save it for my top set. • • • Another tip I would like to share is belt tightness. I keep my belt pretty loose for all my warmups and as the weights go up my belt gets tighter for each set. This also helps with pop off the floor and staying tight. Having the belt too tight can be a bad thing and can work against you. Play around with it and find that sweet spot. When you find the tightest that is just right you will understand and know exactly what I’m talking about. • • • Beat of luck to you guys!
