In my opinion, although Aretha may be better known as the Queen of Soul, I just generally prefer Patti's songs and discography over Aretha. 🌷⟡ Vocal Perfection #33 ⏤ 🌸⟡ I️ really did think Mariah really did love, Tommy. I️ mean she valued him and trusted him. Petals is really about Tommy, I️ really do think that. She probably hates him and shook him off, but back then up until around 2005, she was really hurt, I️ mean Petals is just one of some of the many songs written about him. ⏤ 🍬⟡ I️ especially love this rendition of Petals, since, after Petals, the Rainbow Interlude is there to come along. :’) ⏤ 💫⟡ Petals/Rainbow Interlude Live Performance ⟶ Exact Date Unknown - 2000 Rosie O’Donnell Show ⏤ 🕊⟡ Petals or Butterfly? Petals means so much lyrically especially if you really hone in on the lyrics, it’s really a sad song. Butterfly was the precursor to Petals as if Mariah was probing to see if she could write a song like Petals and release it. ⏤ 🍃⟡ Her current partner at the time of recording Rainbow, Luis Miguel was on a European Tour, to spend more time with him, she decided to record the album in Capri, Italy, thinking it would help her complete the album sooner, as she did it in only 3 months! ⏤ 🌙⟡ Petals.
