#4: Take a day-long road trip.
Cram a couple of friends into the car, pack your smartphone camera and a cooler with snacks, pick a direction, and drive. Try looking up major tourist attractions within a few hours' drive of your town (if you live in Kansas, the world's largest ball of twine in Cawker is undoubtedly worth a day trip).
