I Failed My First College Class
I failed. I just completed my first semester of university and while I overall had a great time, academically I did not do as well as I expected. As my final grades rolled in, I realized I failed one of my classes. At my school, failing a class can be earning less than a 74%. A C-. My GPA is not what I would like it to be at all. But, it's my responsibility. I did not adjust as well as I should have academically, making the transition from high school to college. Missing class, not turning in assignments on time, not turning in assignments at all. I let my perfectionism run so high I was afraid of turning in assignments if they weren’t entirely perfect. While I’m not proud of the grade I received, I’m not mad at myself. Disappointed? Yes. Angry? No. I’m not going to cry. I’m not going to sulk. Ultimately I earned this grade and all I can do now is move on. I’m not sure whether I am allowed to repeat the class so I’ve emailed my advisor to figure out if I can do so. As prepared as I thought I was for college, no matter how many books I read, videos I watched, advice I sought out, nothing truly prepares you for the academic experience, other than actually going through it. Now I know exactly what not to do for spring semester, and it has fueled a fire inside me to work a million times harder to earn better grades.
On a more positive note, I did earn an A- in my world politics class, the main course I had original worries in. As well as passed my French class with a B-.
Failure is okay. It's going to happen at some point. It’ll hurt. And depending on the situation you may not know how to handle it. But just know that failing an assignment, an exam, or even an entire class does not mean you as a person are a failure. It encourages growth and shows you what works and what doesn’t. Happy holidays guys and I wish you all happiness and passion in your academics!

A TL;DR of my semester
So this semester was probably the most hectic, fast-paced, grueling, and difficult semester that I will have faced leading up to graduating with my bachelor’s degree(s).
My courses: 3 brutal chemical engineering courses, 1 med-student physiology course from hell, and 1 laid back organic chem lab
My responsibilities: President for a diversity org, undergrad researcher, undergrad grader, undergrad tutor
My leisure/self-care activities: intramural basketball, working out, cooking, reading
Everything went pretty solid, except for that med-school type course. It really screwed me this semester but I passed, nonetheless. It sucks and it makes me upset, but it just serves as motivation to do well next semester. My best times came from outside of class, and that really has meant the most to me :)
Did you guys ever have final exams before? if so do you hate them? (I do)
Aiden: Yeah, final exams can be hella annoying, but fortunately they're the last thing you do in school/college and you're done with it.

This was my first time printing on loose leaf paper and I really like the way it turned out. I had to change my paper template in GoodNotes to A4 because the Muji looseleaf I’m using is A4. The only annoying thing is that the left side gets a bit cut off by the holes, so I guess I have to remember to leave myself enough room when I write. If anyone has a solution for this let me know! . . . #studygram #studyblr #studycommuity #studyinspo #studyinspiration #studyspo #studyaccount #studyblog #studymotivation #studygrind #goodnotes #goodnotesapp #mcat #premed #medschool #studynotes #ipadpro #medicalschool #premedstudent #biology #studymode #studyhard #studygramcommunity #finalexams (at East Hampton, New York)
